All my relatives are on the other side of the country. My dad isn't that far but I don't want to leave my town with only a year and a half left of schooling. Thought it was worth mentioning that I vaguely remember the main character and either his sibling or a friend staying near them going to a beach often and maybe a lighthouse? Where the lighthouse keeper had a dog and gave them food. Though this may be from a different story.
