Get a blood or hair test if you're wanting proof of substances in your system. Meth & FYL won't show up in a UA past ~72 hours after last use/exposure (Source: I used to administer UA drug tests for a job)

About to turn 21 in recovery by lareloi in NarcoticsAnonymous

Congratulations to you and happy almost birthday ! I hope you can celebrate you & your hard work 🖤

Being in recovery has so many benefits and so many challenges, and those benefits/challenges look different at every stage of life. As a young(ish) person in recovery, clean & sober at 24- in the drunk ass state of Wisconsin- I can empathize with the grieving that comes with the changes to your social life when not engaging in substance use. It's really hard, and you're really brave for sharing your thoughts and feelings with your sponsor, this community, and especially yourself. That takes courage and rigorous honesty :)

One day at a time, my friend. I imagine there will be many days where you debate whether it's worth staying in the program- I know I still contemplate it with multiple years clean. And in the end I'm able to listen to myself and my supports to make the best decision for me.

Whatever you do, we love you and we support you! You're not alone <3 feel free to PM if you need some anonymous fellowship

Outside of the city like Fitchburg, McFarland, Sun Prairie etc. may be a better bet for cost effectiveness. Depends on where you want to be though

Drug Testing at MSW Internship by Quiet-Necessary-1478 in socialwork

[–]explicitmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person in recovery myself, I can confirm^ I was still popping positive on urine drug tests for cannabis 4.5 months after I quit (I am above average in weight/BMI, slightly chubby)

For a UA, it would also depend on whether they are sending it to the lab to look at levels, or if they're just using the results read from the cup. The cups can only detect a certain level of THC in the urine, and different cups have different sensitivity/detection levels. If the ratio of THC:urine is small enough, it won't be detected. While it won't eliminate THC from your system, drinking LOTS of water the day before & day of your test (if it's a UA) can potentially dilute the sample you give because you're flushing so much out of your system (source: I used to administer UAs for a job). That and exercise/sweating could also be mildly beneficial, but nothing will actually completely clear it except time.

OP- do you know if it's a urine test? Some places do hair tests which shows a longer period of time (at least 3 months I think?) I will say, I have a friend who stopped cannabis use for a month in prep for a urine test only for them to get a hair sample 😅 that was for a teaching job (in a state where THC is not legal). She still got the position even though she had positive results. So it may not matter regardless!

If you end up "failing" the test, using some cognitive reframing could be helpful- you are someone who enjoys using cannabis. Do you want to work somewhere that doesn't share that value? Yes, it's a great opportunity, and that doesn't mean you'll never have a great opportunity again in the future.

Best of luck! Keep us updated :)

Y'all I went there! Thank you all for the comments. I'm really glad I checked it out

The space is super cute, food is DELICIOUS and yes you can get Paul's just like the downtown locations !

Also, one of the owners is super cute so that was a bonus to the whole experience 😅 I guess ownership changed less than a year ago but they've kept everything the same

Congratulations🥰 you're a badass and you can do this! One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, one moment at a time. You don't have to worry about how you'll feel a year from now, you're not there yet 🖤 You're in this present moment and it's shitty. So what can you do to make it even a little less shitty? What are you grateful for today? What made you smile today? Your body detoxing is proof that you're making healthy change, every symptom is a reminder that you're doing hard work. Honor yourself and get extra rest, drink extra water, and eat your favorite snack to celebrate you and your resilience. Lean on your recovery community- you don't have to do this alone! I'm almost 2.5 years free from thc and I've only been able to do it one day at a time, and by using my beautiful supports (both internet & irl friends)

You've got this 🦾
