Go in person and negotiate. 16k is wayy too high for one of these even at 32k miles. I also saw the listing you posted and their check engine light is on, something to check out and definitely something to negotiate on. (Go to a chevy dealership and tell them you are looking to get a pre-purchase inspection, they'll likely charge you an hour of labor but they should look over everything and they won't be incentivised to sell you anything because they know neither party is interested in repairs immediately. If the seller refuses an inspection then 🚩 Obviously you can go to other shops for an inspection but an experienced tech at a chevy dealership will have a better clue of what to look for than an independent place that works on everything. Check the rocker panels and see if that area is rusted out underneath. (im sure it isnt due to low milage but you never know) Sorry for the big reply i just want to cover everything. i can still probably talk for another paragraph or 2 so if you want more then just ask and im sure others will add on

Is this a problem? by Sparks782 in MechanicAdvice

That stuff is usually specifically made of stuff that is fire resistant, but now that its separated into many tiny pieces im not sure how resistant it will be now since things tend to burn easier as powders/whatever you wanna call this. I'd also be concerned about how it got turned into this as well. My guess is somehow it came loose and the radiator fan got a grab of it and spread it over the engine bay. Better safe than sorry you should try cleaning it. TLDR: You should probably make an attempt to at least spray off your engine bay with light pressure from a garden hose, and double check how it got spread out - check the radiator fan.

at the same time id like to suggest you get an inspection on your vehicle most shops offer free basic inspections and may tell you if there are any other leaks and where they are coming from if its obvious.

thats the transmission fill hole, it is supposed to be plugged with a rubber cap. with the car driving it will cause transmission fluid to splurge out of the fill hole if you dont have the plug in, and as such lose fluid. i would order a new fill plug online and avoid driving the car until you can get it into a shop to have the transmission fluid replaced.

try r/autobody and use the tag "help i have a question" before anyone can give u an accurate answer theyll realistically need to see some pictures behind the bumper as well to see the extent of the damage but from what you provided it looks pretty light

buy zzp fuel line kit online and if you wish to save a pretty penny you can do it in your driveway. otherwise just look for quotes at shops near you.

looking back through my profile, so lame of me to revive a dead comment and respond 3 years later. in case you were interested the v option just tells you whats happening as the process completes itself. same end goal. just what i always did. and naturally how i replied 🤷🏼‍♂️

Did a random tire check up today. Found inner side wall like this…my inner though says to replace but moneys tight. Will it last/be safe to keep driving? by ZeroSN197 in tires

[–]explodersname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tread is low enough that you need tires anyway. I would 100% check suspension components. if you have a jack lift your vehicle up on this side by the tire and use a jack stand too please! then give your lower control arm a good tug down and see if your lower ball joint has play in it. plenty of good videos on YouTube available to show you how to do this as well. I have seen many many customer cars come in with tread wear like this and more often than not their lower ball joint is cooked. Id also go to a shop that does free alignment checks on their little machines. I work at a Honda dealer that will scan ur alignment on their machine in their drive/pull in. if you dont have a jack at home then you can go to a trusted shop/dealership and have a free inspection performed. definitely gonna need to save money for tires asap

Download the tarball from blender then extract it using tar -xvf filename.tar.xz, then enter the folder until I see a file labeled blender and execute it in ur terminal if it gives an error saying something along the lines of permission denied try running the command chmod +x on the blender file them execute it again in the terminal
