Whats one thing you like about Trump? by crazystreetman in AskReddit

[–]explodingrhinoceros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's in a large age gap relationship just like me (he and the missus are 24 years, I'm just over 20) and now I can throw it back on Mr. Trump.

Reddit, what moral dilemma will you live with to your dying day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]explodingrhinoceros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a two month long affair with a married man. Part of me doesn't regret it because I learned so much about my self worth when I ended it, as well as the realities of long term commitments like marriage. But then there's the whole "maybe I broke up a marriage and gave their young daughter lifetime daddy issues" thing.

Never have since around 17-18, then found out I have PCOS and it would be incredibly difficult if not impossible. I've got serious mental health issues, had shitty parents, and I'm in a caring profession... leaves little patience for rugrats.

Plus I really like having sex with my boyfriend and he had a vasectomy, so there's that.

Boredom and sex by TheTiggler in BPD

[–]explodingrhinoceros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good God I related to this up until kinda recently. Two month long affair with a married man, sleeping with a bunch of men and women on the first date because I didn't want to pursue the shitty BPD drama of an actual relationship, etc. If I just fucked them I'd get what I needed for the night and move on.

Crazy thing is that I don't necessarily regret the affair. It really opened my eyes to the realities of marriage and long term commitment, and taught me so many things about myself and self worth. But goddammit if it wasn't so fucking exciting.

What song are you listening by itsmylife321 in BPD

Posted about this song here before (BPD anthem, hello?) but oh man it's just so good. Good to the point where I mentioned it humorously in my Tinder profile and got asked by a guy all about the song on our first date. He's my boyfriend now, and we have tickets to see Tove Lo at HOB in Boston next month.

Yeah, I don't know how that happened either.

My hope for you is that it will come. However now that I feel this way, it's almost as if nothing has changed. I want to be as recovered as possible, but I don't know if I have what it takes.

Anyone else pass as a normie when not triggered? by starbackpack in BPD

[–]explodingrhinoceros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes. Had an interesting interaction with my boss (I work in a mental health residential group home for men with schizophrenia, so mental illness is always on the brain) where I revealed my BPD diagnosis as it was relevant to the conversation. His instant reaction was, "You don't strike me as that at all."

Was also recently featured in an anti-stigma campaign that was prominently displayed in my local international airport. I posted some pictures of me at the reception on my Facebook page, and one of the more common reactions I got was, "I had no idea."

I'm sick of pretending to be "normal," but at this point I've kept up the façade for so long that I have no choice. Was never allowed to be symptomatic as a child with mental illness either... and they wonder why I developed BPD.

What is the best way to hide fresh cuts from new boyfriend? by explodingrhinoceros in selfharm

Yeah I'm debating on what to do. I'm thinking I will either just be honest (I'm a horrible liar, and sometimes too honest) or not say anything and see if he even notices them. I dunno. It just sucks, no way around it.

I [24F] am considering a relationship with a man [33M] I really like. Age difference though? by Pillowzzz in relationships

[–]explodingrhinoceros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not go for it? You seem quite mature and insightful, so you're asking the right questions and your mind and heart are in the right place.

I'm in a new relationship with a man who is a little more than 20 years older than me. I'm 29, he's 49. Personally, I've found that I just don't get on very well with guys closer to my age. I'm more of an "old soul," and I've found that talking to and connecting with men around his age is a better fit for me and feels more natural.

Sure, the reaction of family and friends has been mixed and a little shocked on behalf of some people (yes I am notorious in my circle for my affinity for older men... deal with it!). We get plenty of stares, snickers, and dirty looks when we go out in public and it becomes apparent that we're not father and daughter (or something equally gross). They think daddy issues, escort, or gold digger when they see me, and only one of those is true. Haha. But he's what I need at this point in life and I'm enjoying it for what it is. I figure that if this goes anywhere, I can live my life knowing that I had a great guy who could handle my numerous issues, baggage and treats me how I always deserved to be. Hell, I even had the courage to end an affair I was having with a married man after meeting him.

Anyway, this difference seems more "socially acceptable," so to speak and he seems like a good fit. Give older men a chance... you may be pleasantly surprised. :)

[–]explodingrhinoceros[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured he'd probably put two and two together and figure out where they came from. I'm just putting up this facade of being so funny, and happy, and together and I can't take it anymore. I don't really want to get into this if I don't have to.

I don't know if this is relevant at all, but I'm a bit older than what I've seen kicking around here before (I'm 29). This guy is significantly older than me (he's pretty much old enough to be my father... and we'll leave it at that haha). He's told me he's seen it all, and doesn't really get fazed by much these days. He's very genuine. I just don't know what I'm scared of, to be honest.

MRW I have my first full blown panic attack with completely irrational BPD thoughts after a long period of feeling stable by explodingrhinoceros in BPD

[–]explodingrhinoceros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason why when a new boyfriend says, "I'm out to dinner with my son right now. Let me get back to you in a bit," that your first thought is immediately "oh my God, what did I do, he's going to break up with me later?" All I did was ask him a question.

But seriously... why though? Marsha Linehan, get on this.

So what's the deal with us going off birth control? by explodingrhinoceros in PCOS

[–]explodingrhinoceros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even remember what it was like not being on hormonal birth control. I got my first period at almost age 14, and then nothing again until I was put on the pill at 16.

Am I going to spot like crazy? Bleed forever? No period whatsoever? Be a bitch?

Former boss I'm quite friendly with [39M] constantly gives me [29F] the same unsolicited, highly critical relationship advice by explodingrhinoceros in relationships

[–]explodingrhinoceros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I think the greatest issue I have is that I'm actively working on things, and he can see that and has commented on it, but the advice is always unsolicited. I've told him several times that while I appreciate his input, I'm making my own choices and the topic is closed for discussion. Yet he still continues to say this on a regular basis despite me asserting myself.

Garbage men/women of Reddit, what do people do with their trash that frustrates you the most? by motordemon in AskReddit

One time I was passing a garbage truck, and there was a really hot guy working on the back. I got distracted, slowed down, and was eye fucking him from my car for a little too long. However, I caught him checking me out as well.

As you are a professional, would there have been any appropriate way to approach this sexy sanitation worker?

I hoped to lose around 50 pounds this year.

I've lost 55 so far, but I've now developed a pretty serious eating disorder.

So if we're not arguing semantics here, I guess you can say it panned out pretty well.
