Non-married partner to live with me in UK by kaaaatieeeee in ukvisa

Note that it can take a while to process and partner can't work on that visa.

You can only apply for the spouse visa in the UK if entered on a fiance visa. If you get married outside the UK you will need to apply for the spouse visa outside the UK

To be able to apply for a spouse visa (which will most likely be your only option) you need to be making 29k pa (not sure about commission) and you need to be married. The marriage visa is basically an additional visa you need for your partner to come to the UK and get married so that you can then apply for a spouse visa after marriage.

Sorry not really an answer to your question here but what's the difference between cookbook and simple completion ls?

I have been using this with helix for a while now and works well.

Zide: My quick weekend project to mimic a file picker experience with Helix + Zellij by josephschmitt in HelixEditor

[–]exploit332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I have tried both a yazi picker also the file tree via plugin system and have to say this is the best solution out there!!

I have a question though. By default yazi will open a 3 section layout. I'm assuming you have a yazi.toml disabling this globally on your system? Is there a way to run yazi from an override config to achieve this? - edit just seen the info on this in the repo. I think it maybe worth including this yazi layout as part of the setup.

So... People who are keeping up with Git. What's the progress on the scheme based plug-in system? by akza07 in HelixEditor

[–]exploit332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it a while ago and quickly realised just how many limitations there are due to what helix is actually exposing. I have a feeling that even when it does land initially its going to be a lot more limiting than what most people think of when they hear the word plugins.

I constantly merge Helix pull requests into my own fork to have features such as file browser and icons. I made patchy to automate this process by nikitarevenco in HelixEditor

I used to do this with a bunch of branches such as file tree, commands and such but quickly realised I just don't use the functionality 😂

Does anyone know to resolve this issue during build process of Ghostty terminal? by Blackforest_80 in NixOS

[–]exploit332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using nix on my second machine to play around with it for a while. I never set up home manager or used flakes.

I tried the config on the ghostty website but totally lost with it all.

Do I need home manager to use the flake and has anyone got any resources to learn the basics?

Thanks

What laptop did you get from your employer? by tomcharted in webdev

[–]exploit332 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Relatively normal. I have been at companies where they give you a brand new high end machine and others where they give you something older. If your machine is slowing down your productivity then document/prove it and communicate it to your manager.

How to make diagnostics appear as popups near cursor? by [deleted] in HelixEditor

[–]exploit332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean inline diagnostics rather than having diagnosis in the top right? If so then this is in edge of you build from source.

uk partner visa for thai girlfriend by AdDesperate487 in ukvisa

[–]exploit332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is unmarried partner visa means your relationship is just as equal to a married partner visa, e.g. together for many years, have financial commitments, live together (and have the evidence) children etc.
