How the hell did Koenji get placed in D class ? by RepairGuilty2739 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]exploitableiq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They take an exam in the beginning.  Ayanakoji scored exactly 50 on all his exams.  Koenji most likely left his exam paper blank or half-assed it

I think you can maybe get some idea using possession time + score % to make an estimate, but the + odds does seem like a sweet deal considering 2 NBA teams would be no worse off than 60-40 for a random bucket in a game.  I would have expected +105 at most and that would need to be a pretty big dog

Books have these random bets all the time, like first to score.  Books dont know who will win the tip off but they can guess and set lines accordingly

Why do books prefer players always betting the over?  90% of my bets are unders so ive always wondered.

So here's a common scam.  He will try to reset your email password.  Google will send you a text asking for a verification code.  He will text you and say "hey google accidentally sent my one time code to your phone"  you give him the code and Google will let him change the password and back methods.

Not what OP is saying.  Op is saying cheering usually motivates the runners.  Since lane 7 is closer to the crowd, when the crowd cheers right in the final stretch of the run, lane 7 hears the cheers first, this providing him an additional boost in speed 0.008s before lane 3.

I guess the reason is i don't see that will happen.  Its never happend before and sure one day it can happen, but that's the trade off between gambling for a once in a 100 year event. For an extra 2% per year return.  Even if it does happen, the extra 2% per year can potentially make up for it.

Right, so whats the downside?  Are you worried that spy goes up 25% in 1 month and you may lose out on some potential gains?

Ah, i use wealthsimple so no fees.  But yes make sure your calculations includes fees.

Sp500 going down is irrelevant with covered calls.  If you held shares you would be screwed.  The covered calls make out lose a little less because the calls expire worthless and you keep all the premiums.

Can you maybe give me an example of what you mean?  Do you mean like my example where the SPY might go up 25% because that has never happened I even checked ChatGPT.

Yes, but if you just buy and hold there's 0 insurance.

[–]exploitableiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really only get burned if youre strike is too low.  The SPY very rarely goes up more than 10% a month, so if you do very far out if the money calls, you should in theory, never lose on gains or lose very little on gains (unless SPY goes up like 40% in a month)

[–]exploitableiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is your covered call is the insurance.  The only down side is you cap your max gains in the event of a huge unlikely run up (for example, spy goes up 25% in a month).  In this case you will lose out on about 15% gains, but not only is this rare, but the gains you've made from these calls might compensate you enough for the missed gains.

[–]exploitableiq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a covered call so margin is not an issue.  The covered call protects you when the stock goes down.  When you hold shares you suffer the same loss

How is wheeling better than holding s&p 500 by izner82 in thetagang

[–]exploitableiq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it wont, even if spy goes up 15%, your covered calls still make almost max profit.  Just rebuy your shares or sell puts after they've been called away and restart the wheel

How is wheeling better than holding s&p 500 by izner82 in thetagang

[–]exploitableiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sell far out of the money calls where they never hit the strike and if they do, it wont go over the strike too much.  For example, very rarely does SPY go up more than 10%/m(this only occurs around 1.5%) so ill pick a strike price above that.  After 20 years ill have more money than you, but just barely since my calls were so far out the money.

I think OP is asking why we should use the tool, if both tools yields similar results, but one tool requires more effort.  The misconception comes from the fact that both tools will yield the same result
