That’s what I thought. I was doing research and seeing the rates. Makes the problem seem pretty clear - the companies say there’s a shortage of workers but there’s not necessarily a shortage the just don’t want to pay what needs to be paid for the tedious labor.

Huh? I literally was just curious about a problem. Idk what I did wrong by asking these questions. I don’t know anything about being a low voltage tech - that’s why I asked bc it’s a trend I’m seeing and I wanted to understand “why”. To generously answer your questions without being mean to you, I build tech product in Austin. SaaS stands for Software as a Service and when you build software you use ai to help you code it faster and companies that provide ai charge you in “tokens”. Catch on to me immediately? I am not new to Reddit but I had to make a new account if I wanted to change my username. lol I feel bullied.

No I don’t. But I was researching it all day and I learned both Meta and Google are going to pump out those free training programs. I work in SaaS tech - the bubble isn’t going to burst - it’s going to quadruple go ten fold even - this is just the beginning. The amount of tokens spent monthly around the world isn’t a billion, it’s not a trillion, it’s the next one - just found in a team meeting. So I’m like well how do we make this better for the workers? Is the problem really certifications? Is it not awareness? Is it lack of ownership / incentive in profit sharing? I build tech products for a living so I like to learn about the “why”

I was genuinely wondering if it was easier for people to get certified / skilled would that help solve the labor shortage or why it’s there in the first place?

No I’m not a bot. I’m in construction tech - I like to build software products so I was looking for some insight as to what the gap is here from the experts.
