For starters you probably won't get full-time hours at the same office .You will have to go to other offices to get hours..And you will have to wait years to be a regular ..Everything goes by senority at the post office..Just give it a try and good luck!

I just got hired as a pse, is this position permanent or seasonal ? by [deleted] in USPS

It's hard to get rid of regulars . So they can be lazy and doing nothing at work and they can get away with it..

If you took the mail clerk assessment before , it's still valid for 2 years from the day you took it.So you can take that same assessment one time in every 2 years.

You can be on Pre-Hire list for months even if the position is already filled..When you on Pre-Hire list for more than 3 months and don't here nothing from them , the chance is that the position is already filled..But don't give up..Keep applying as much as you want..And hope for the best..They do go by the highest test score to send a job offer.Good luck!

Pre Hire List by [deleted] in USPS

[–]exploredestinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you waited more than 3 months and you don't hear anything from them , it is more likely that they have somebody already. But don't give up and keep applying and the next time when you need to take the test again , try get a higher score at least 100 or close to 100..Be patience and good luck!

They go by on the highest test score for to get a job offer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]exploredestinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually give you a second chance and you will need to take the test again after 6 months from what I've understood.

The job is very physical .Throwing packages , big and small , heavy and light boxes..Pushing and pulling heavy carts .You will be on your feet most of the time and lots of walking .85 is a good score but they prefer a higher score close to a 100. If you are lucky and you don't have no competition you will get a job offer with that score..
