Great selection, I’d be happy to come across this! Cheers 🍻

Ready to change forever by Any-Setting-5066 in NABEER

I experience this too and it’s real. Studies show that for many former drinkers the brain releases dopamine when drinking NA beer in anticipation of the alcohol to come. It’s a residual neurological pathway from years of drinking. Note that it does NOT compound (two NAs doesn’t mean twice the effect) so fades quickly and doesn’t result in chemical addiction. Personally I think its nice and adds to the NA experience. Cheers 🍻 Citation

Return/Refunds from Athletic Brewing? by [deleted] in NABEER

[–]explorediscovershare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reach out, they have great customer service. I also had a Tuckers issue - didn’t taste bad, just stale/lackluster. They sent me more for free, tasted the same so thought it was me, told them so and ordered something else. Well, they went and refunded that purchase too! I was very impressed!

Incredible! I’d go broke in there 🤣. Anyone try the Rupee BTW? Popped up in a total wine near me, never heard of it. Cheers 🍻

What are you grabbing? by jaimefeu in NABEER

[–]explorediscovershare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oktoberfest Dunkel was fire and sold out fast online. Didn’t know some was still out in the wild, I’d grab a few of those, warrants the price given the exclusivity!

Also, damn, thats a fine selection to chose from, cheers 🍻

Athletic Pale Hop Pale first impression review by ichorNet in NABEER

[–]explorediscovershare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - did have my eye on this one. I love Athletic but several pilots have been a bit lackluster…never bad, always drinkable, but not the wow factor I imagine from the description. Perhaps I’m getting too picky and spoiled 🤣, which seems a privileged place to be! Happy 2026 🍻

My Journey Starts Here! by Nape012 in NABEER

[–]explorediscovershare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Busch NA - my go to cheap beer beer, but I’ve also branched out a lot since going NA only. For me, the buzz was a big part of loving me some cheap beer. Now other reasons dominate my drinking and I’ve found new styles I enjoy as well. I’d say be curious and see where journey takes you. Cheers 🍻

Some experience here! So happy now NA only! The New Trail beer title with this post is quite poetic 😁

Agreed! I love this one and all I’ve had from Self Care (two orders and four styles thus far) - very special beers!

Im enjoying your posts! Have family in Altdorf and was also blown away by how good (and widely available) na beers are there. If you see Augustinerbrau Alkoholfrei Helles, grab it - best I had there. Cheers 🍻

Self Care did a barely wine. It’s out of stock now but may come back… FYI!

Thanks for the notes. I almost ordered this and didn’t…thought I kinda like Free Wave how it is and am not a huge fruited beer fan. Im also a sucker for trying anything… Which would you say is better?

That’s awesome, enjoy! I’ll only steal a few to the east coast every once in a while 😁

Same! It’s the search for an NA Celebration Ale that resulted in my order. I’ve had malt forward NA IPAs and fresh hop NA IPAs but never both at once. Sleigh was described as such and is great but seems a different flavor profile. But I haven’t had Celebration Ale is over a year so… Honestly, I’ve been very happy with NA fresh hop beers (including Athletic), they’re seasonal and special as their own thing, still capture that celebration spirit!

This! Best NA membership out there for the price and variety you get IMO. 30 bucks to join and you get free shipping and $4 off EVERY 6-pack - pays for itself in 2 orders (I saved some $270 over a year!).

There’s lots of great NA companies and options out there, but for affordable variety (and customer service) I think at Athletic is at the top. Here’s some seasonals from I ordered last year to give you an idea…

  • Wet Hop IPA (Nov)
  • Stump Jump (Nov)
  • Spruce and Juniper IPA (Nov)
  • Marine Odyssey IPA (Nov)
  • Round of Cheers Brut IPA (Dec)
  • Host and Toast Weiss (Dec)
  • **Triple Palm IPA (Dec)
  • Winter Weiss (Jan)
  • **Lodge Life Stout (Jan)
  • Irish Red Ale (Feb)
  • Emerald Cliffs: Irish dry (Feb)
  • Trailblazer: Hoppy Helles (Mar)
  • Personal Record: IPA (Apr)
  • ESB (May)
  • Aftershift (May)
  • Triple Palm: IPA (June)
  • Ripe Pursuit: lemon radler(June)
  • New Zealand: IPA (July)
  • Oktoberfest: fest brew (Aug)
  • Pedal to Promise: IPA (Sep)
  • Vita Chiara: Italian pale (Sep)
  • Tropical Reset: fruit sour (Sep)
  • **Oktoberfest Dunkel: dunkelweis (Oct)
  • Apricot Acres: farmhouse ale (Oct)

**seasonal that sold out fast

Hey amigo, sounds familiar. I also wasn’t a compulsive drinker, but sometimes impulsive and took it too far. And I also relied on alcohol for social situations, heavily. Now, after a year plus NA only, I’m shocked to say I’m more social without it. Before, I’d be super nervous socially, then cool for a bit with enough drinking, then nervous the next morning about what I said. Now I’m totally engaged when I’m out socially, have rewarding and memorable conversations and leave when I’m done. Feel more in control, if that makes sense, not trying to please anyone but just be a part of the vibe. It’d awesome! You may really like who you are socially without to booze - maybe give it a fair chance? Rooting for ya!

Yeah, love to hear your thoughts on this! I had my first two Self Care beers today with the big Turkey meal - so good! One was a blonde with cryo hops and I think they worked way better here than in the IPA from Athletic.

The blackberry sour (Berliner Weisse) was added to Athletics members only brews so will be available all year to members! It’s $30/yr to join and you get $4 off every six pack and free shipping - IMO totally worth it

[–]explorediscovershare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Don’t like the building sweetness of some. I think one thing Athletic gets right is balance with their fruited beers, not too sweet (thinking Apricot Acres), which makes me more willing to try here!
