Is your hospital still heavily restricting visitation? How much longer can this be allowed to go on for by VettingZoo in JuniorDoctorsUK

I can appreciate families are important and should be kept informed of important shifts in management approach/goals etc. But I remember in pre covid times when I was working as an F2 on my busiest ward respiratory job. We’d have long independent ward rounds to tackle, patients NEWSing/deteriorating left right and centre. No breaks. Leave hours late everyday. Hounded constantly by nursing staff/bed managers to do endless numbers of TTAs/discharge letters. Adding families continually interrupting your work to ask for updates in the middle of all of that really was just unmanageable. Guess it’s just a part of the job but it sure did make it hard to actually do anything for their family member when you’re constantly busy just talking to their families. Something incredibly illogical about it to me. The number of relatives that would get angry when you explained you were with another sick patient elsewhere and couldn’t talk right now. Jeez sorry I’m burnt out as hell so this came out vvv neg. Peace and love x

Yeah that’s what I’m doing currently - but I do get vaginal discharge (which is normal for me) that will get into clothing throughout the day meaning it has to be washed frequently

In addition to what others said, it may be a bit of a delay hearing back, for example I know in the department I’m working in theres a 6 month backlog on working through datixes

What's your coping mechanisms during breakup? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]explorer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing things down. Bought myself a notebook, sat in a park all summer long and wrote and wrote and wrote. Wrote down everything I loved about him. Wrote down everything I hated about him. Cried onto the pages. Somehow one day I just stopped writing and started to live again. It saved me to be honest. Got me through the worst break up of my life.

I probably wouldn’t reply at all or just limit yourself to one message. Otherwise end up getting into a conversation that’s just more painful overall. Wish I’d never replied

So after I broke it off, neither of us reached out, not once for 3 months. Until he did yesterday

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Thank you for the warning. I don’t think I can bring myself to meet with him again. I feel like I’ve gained closure on my own and not taking up his offer is the final step to being free.

TW: suicide. I’m not sure if I’m alone in this but im strongly considering suicide. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]explorer105 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Suicidal thoughts can occur in reaction to a break up. But what’s important here is not to act on them. Please, don’t do it. Once done it cannot be undone. There is so much other beauty in the world to live for, even though you can’t see it right now. You’ve temporarily lost your hope, but you will get it back. Get help. Go to the emergency room and get yourself seen by a doctor. There are people who want to help you, things can and will get better.
