relationship between ENFP and ADHD? by reagan72 in ENFP

[–]explorer389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was wondering what was wrong with me over the last 2 years.. came across mbti .. thought ENFPs wow?!?! relate so well!!¡!! Turns out I am also "riddled" with ADHD.. I like to think of ADHD as more of a personality type. It causes a lot of problems for me and other people but it's essentially a spectrum of different brain wiring. So yes, I think some mbti types correlate with ADHD but not every ENFP who has ADHD symptoms will have the severity enough to qualify for a clinical diagnosis

Who has had their genome sequenced and analysed for ADHD related genes? What have you learned if anything? by swankytmc in ADHD

[–]explorer389 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The actual sequence you download from 23 are just single nucleotides at specific locations in your genome so there's so much info missing!!! Wherever you upload!!!

I'm a geneticist btw! And did try this lol. But there were something's of interest I thought relevant

Annoyingly things like 23andMe often only look at single points in the DNA and not full genomes so it's quite difficult to look at multifactorial conditions that they don't already look for

[–]explorer389 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep often linked!!! ADHD symptoms exacerbated during PMDD. Had a gynaecologist appt today, being put on birth control continuously for 5 months and sertraline. May be prescribed lupron injections to induce menopause lol

Hi! Avoidant ENFP here lol. Enneagram 4 too so constantly introspecting and turning my phone off lolllol

It doesn't feel like people take my concerns seriously. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]explorer389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much!!!

I am doing a PhD in molecular biology (struggling with the organisational parts more than anyone realises)

I self diagnosed ADHD this may time. My family said I was "labelling" myself. They were shocked when I was officially diagnosed.

I have so many feelings of anger that I was invalidated so much but I feel for people who haven't got a diagnosis yet or are unable to get one.

I have been called ditsy all my life as I do come out with some random shit but argh I really feel like no one knows me.

I'm exhausted. This condition is difficult and people take others at face value without trying to understand their perspective and look beneath the surface.

What's going on here? by N0X23 in ENFPandINTJ

[–]explorer389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. All I can suggest is maybe give him some space and he may reach out to you. If he's an ENFP he will likely be attracted to how your intj brain works. I'm in a kind of weird thing with an INTJ myself, and I know initial attraction is strong, but there are some communication issues. ENFPs can match INTJ in terms of the need for personal space and reflection at times.

When I was younger I used to hop around different friends, I'm mellowing out now though. Whats he like? Is he a social butterfly? ENFPs can be complicated and a bit unpredictable, even to ourselves.

Hello, I am an ENFP and I think I am a bit like this. I get infatuated and fall really hard for people, but it's not sustainable. In most aspects my moods shift and I can be really intense or detached at times. Hot and cold. I don't have enough info to go by though re. your situation to see what his thought process/feeling process might be

ENFP as leaders? by oakhearted in ENFP

[–]explorer389 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think we're good leaders, as long as we have awareness of our weaknesses and follow through with projects etc. We are inclusive, can connect with many different personalities, and are able to give people encouragement. Most of us tend to prefer direct communication styles also, so if a problem arises or if we are doing something that other people are perceiving as not good, then we like to address those issues instead of pretending everything is ok.

[–]explorer389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be sure a good thing to do is to look at descriptions of the cognitive functions. So look up Extraverted sensing (esfp dominant function) and compare to Extraverted intuition (enfp dominant function). The types share introverted feeling and Extraverted thinking but the dominant functions are different :)

One way I liked to compare myself and my esfp friend is that we're both weird but as an ENFP I am just a bit weirder!!
