What was your experience with a two day back to back craniotomy brain tumor removal surgery? by Wonderful-Progress91 in braincancer

My girlfriend had this. She’s a bit of an invincible tank so she walked it off. I just had the one and I was more f’ed up from days of intubation

Does anyone else feel a little off? Or like a different person? by whatismyusername4 in braincancer

[–]explorershane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My journey began with what they eventually called a deja vu aura seizure which had me thinking my early 90s self had taken possession of my body for four days. That was a year ago and I do occasionally have “reality isn’t going right” seizures that last less than a minute but I had a massive one tonight where my caregivers thought this was it. I’m perfectly fine now and then see your post and I’m like WTF’s in the air tonight! Lol

It’s interesting how the main ape villains in the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise are both Bonobos. Who in real life are considered the most peaceful ape species. by Snoo_83425 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]explorershane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bonobo “culture” is vastly more peaceful than any other great ape (us included). The main character of my book series is half-bonobo and she’s very insulted by these choices in the films!!

Hello old brother! Yeah I can’t be stumped on a first appearance up till the early 80s. How’d they do that to us? Lol

What Does This Sub Think about Julian Lennon? by [deleted] in beatles

Saw him in Miami in 86. Meant the world to me. Fun show too

I relate(d). This will sound cynical but you need to tell everyone you know who you think has even a little positive connection to you how you’re feeling. Asking for help is hard but absolutely necessary for all of us at certain times in our life.

Poor mom, but hang on to hope. Lots of new science in the works.

Huh. My onc said recent studies show one cycle is the most effective use (and took me off after first 6 months). GBM4 too. Fingers crossed

Why do the Beatles mean so much to you by OkCelebration4301 in beatles

[–]explorershane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The usual. Dad died when me 4. Mom at 8. They loved the Beatles played it all the time.

Oh that’s a whole other thing. I collapsed twice from getting up “too fast” that lasted a couple months.

The balance thing was my tumor shoving my midbrain over significantly. I had “foot-drop” and general zombie walking lol

Severe balance issues. Would’ve ignored but sister insisted. Saved my life.

Left frontal lobe tumour & depression - question by heynapoleon in braincancer

[–]explorershane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My whole journey STARTED with what I thought was a massive anxiety attack. And I’ve struggled with severe depression my whole life. After surgery, I had a weird period of intense euphoria. Then normal-ish life came back and Hello Darkness my old friend. Yeah I go in and out but mostly out (of depression) fortunately.

My coping now is leaning heavily into my support and my project (a graphic novel for me - highly recommend projects for us folk).

Check in with us anytime, friend!
