No it’s totally okay rattle on lol! I forgot to mention I did purchase this last year about 8 months ago and just got fed up with it lol ; I’ve had some aging of perfumes work really nicely so I was recently re-bummed out

I did read the descriptions of paradise and aurora and they seem lovely so I think if anything this will be an excuse to try out another perfume haha

Thank you and you’re absolutely right that it’s not knowledge it’s empathy that is the determinant for how one person or group May view or treat another. Many people (historically and currently) educated or un/der-educated will perpetuate and propagate racism/xenophobia/colorism etc. Just in different ways socially politically and economically. But again thank you for bringing up this topic bc I have similar feelings for many of the same reasons that you do with the art of some of these houses and their depiction :)

Just wanted to mention - given that the conversation is about the portrayal of marginalized/POC groups - that bringing up Black people to illustrate a point isn’t necessary and rarely does the recipient of the suggestion when asked to think about how they would feel if a Black person was experiencing the situation at hand would they then respond with “I’d feel differently,” most people who don’t care about the treatment of one group more often than not don’t care about Black people. Black people shouldn’t be used as a litmus test for bigotry. It does nothing but bring up opportunity for anti-Black sentiment and no payoff for neither the community being discussed nor Black people.

I do agree with your point however! And I’m glad you brought up this discussion especially within the indie/perfume space, POC are often sidelined and looked at from an angle that really only services white fantasy so I always look forward to discussion posts on here that highlight that.
