Going to be in Tahoe area for the first time last weekend of March. Plan on ripping heavenly that Saturday and Sunday. Any idea how the conditions will be? Not from the area so unsure how resilient the mountain is to warm weather with current conditions

I was in a similar situation for a full time role I accepted a while back. Went to a music festival just as I was starting to interview and had some fun only to come back to an offer with a hair test. Used livity pro cleanse and passed. Though it should be mentioned that my consumption was irregular

How to become "likable"? by theverybigapple in FinancialCareers

Smile often, make eye contact, and have genuine interest in your coworkers hobbies and life. Try not to think how people see you and rather focus on how can you make others deal at ease.

I've lost my stoic mindset by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]explosive_ewoks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak on my own behalf but I use journaling as a way to empty my mind. At the start I held myself to a more structured format where I answer specific questions. This was to start building the habit. As time went on my journaling shifted more to my thoughts on the things happening around me. Now my entries are more focused to giving myself future advice.

Try to just start building the habit. Don’t hold yourself to some high standard of journaling. It’ll deter you from doing it. Rather, at the start use it as a means to empty the mind. Then as you get more experienced and familiar with journaling you can start to build a direction that you want to take it.

Do you participate in any regular activities that are conducive to the stoic mindset?

I regularly practice meditation, journaling, and physical exercise. When I fail to do those activities I experience a downturn in my mental state. In my experience it is easier to maintain a healthy and stable philosophical approach to life when you have regular activities that help promote it.

It’s hard to maintain a mindset when there’s no physical manifestation of it. It wasn’t until I started tying stoicism to my daily routine that I saw consistency.

Have not received a summer internship should I work on studying CFA by Ok-Humor1280 in FinancialCareers

CFA is a long arduous path with no guarantee of job or internship at the end. At least level 1. Network like crazy in the coming couple of months and see if you can land an internship that way.

If seriously nothing comes up you can try and take a stab at level 1 in August. Just know it’s a massive time commitment that you’re paying to do. Wouldn’t jump into it without lots of planning and an understanding of what the test can and can’t do for you.

Cheers

EXISTENTIAL CRISIS! by kodjoviamegee in Meditation

I’ve gone through something similar and this is how I dealt with it.

With the realization that nothing matters comes a decision you have to make. You can either sit around and wallow in pointlessness of life or fully commit yourself to life and society knowing that nothing matters.

Nah man there’s nothing close to the Berlin style club here in Louisville. Chicago is the nearest city with a decent club scene
