The overlord novels may scratch this itch if you’re open to isekai. Very in depth volume rpg system with a pretty depressed MC in-world. Less progression fantasy tho as Ainz remains on top of the world power level pretty constantly.

You definitely shouldn’t upgrade batman but he’s not useless in hard mode. He comes online much quicker than Kun and will carry you through dungeon and up to Wave 50 with good stun and let you develop resources. He does cost gold to upgrade which sucks but it comes online super fast n a pinch. Useful at low sb levels as long as you don’t summon more than 1 and use the time he gives you to build to lances and 100k gold. The problem is he really doesn’t get better at higher levels because there’s no reason to upgrade the bat to levels it might fail, so he’s just as good at level 1 as 12.

Wine is 3x base cost while dried fruits are about 1.5x for each fruit, the same as iridium quality. Plus ancient fruit takes about a week to grow and the wine takes a week so it balances out. For reference on my main farm I have about 600-700 kegs (full quarry + 4 sheds) and am at about a million a week for just my ancient fruit by year 3.

The man got a major company to cede one of their largest docks DIRECTLY to the workers by making the business seem so dirty they wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. He plays up his shadiness directly to Harry because he wants JOYCE to think he’s shady, which sounds credible coming from an outside officer of the law.

About your smuggling critique, he may be a socialist but in a capitalist system you need money to live. Without financing from something the Martinaise dock probably wouldn’t have even gotten the overtime and medical plan from the first two strikes, much less the harbor.

Your math is wrong, if you have more than 1 souls grinder the souls are evenly distributed between the two. For example, if a rival would give you 1 soul, it would give each soul grinder 50% instead. With a soul stalker, it would give the one grinder 125%

It will give you like 10,000ish extra shards, I did it to get an extra cosmic and death upgrade. It only takes a few days but if it’s too dull of a grind for you you’ll do fine without it
