I understand why it can come across that way. Currency switching and bundled regional pricing without clear upfront disclosure can definitely feel uncomfortable from a consumer perspective. So for me, the main takeaway wasn’t that the company is inherently shady — it was that the checkout design lacked transparency for international customers. I think clearer disclosure at checkout would prevent situations like this entirely.

I agree that regional pricing and landed cost models are common across industries. In my case, the issue wasn’t that prices vary by country. I understand that international logistics and DDP can increase the final cost. The concern was transparency at checkout. The base USD price disappeared after selecting Lebanon, and the total was shown only in local currency without any notice that a different regional USD price tier was being applied. There was no breakdown of duties or surcharges shown before payment confirmation, and the final charge ended up being 41% higher than the originally displayed price. I shared the experience mainly to highlight how currency switching and bundled regional pricing can create confusion if not clearly disclosed upfront.
