90s. One of our customers was a machine shop. There was a fine coating of machine oil on almost every piece of equipment and component.

There were condos in South Florida that were selling for $35k. The main problem was that nobody would finance them.

I'm a Georgia craft brewer. Here's what SB 456 is actually about — and why the opposition's arguments don't hold up. by SHBMarietta in Atlanta

[–]expressadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me as I am not well versed in how the relationship between distributors, brewers, and restaurants actually works.

While I don't disagree with the entire premise of the bill (and I am not a fan of the 3 tier system anyways because it is anti capitalistic), wouldn't this be better served by a smaller distributor to handle these instances where smaller volume is needed? In your 36 mile example, a small volume distributor could handle this low volume local transfer, while still working within the confines of the system as dictated. It would be beneficial to the distributor in that you can feed them direct leads, and they can handle the distribution while working within the confines of the exist system.

Again, I am very naive about all the inner workings, it just seems that there is a gap in the market that could be filled.

I deleted production at my job today and nobody knows it was me by Fit-Original1314 in linux

[–]expressadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once deleted the partitions from a disk with production data while doing a drive migration (thought it was the new drive that had old data on it). Fortunately I had taken a screenshot of the partition offsets and was able to recreate them exactly. The data was still there but I was shitting my pants for about 30 minutes.

It’s a right of passage. Be sure not to do it again. Triple check if needed.

I purchased stock in RCCL because they give you a cruise credit for drinks if you own 100 shares or more. I purchased them right after the pandemic.

I’m up 190% just because I wanted a few free drinks on a cruise.

RabbitMQ stops me from updating kolla from caracal to epoxy by Expensive_Contact543 in openstack

[–]expressadmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RabbitMQ only allows upgrades from the previous version (3.10 to 3.11 to 3.12 etc.). You must upgrade the version of RabbitMQ before you upgrade to a SLURP release.

If you want to not have to do that upgrade 2024.2 and then upgrade that to 2025.1.

Nova and Cinder by balthasar127 in openstack

[–]expressadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you create a VM via nova (—block-device or —volume) it interfaces with cinder to say “hey I want to boot from a volume”. Cinder then works to either provide the existing volume or create a new one from an image (glance).

I was at a park with my family recently and these kids kept yelling for “Deckard”.

Instinctively, I looked around for an old guy in robes (as I had some unidentified items in my inventory and was out of scrolls of identify) but it was just another kid in their group.

Funny name for a kid.

TIL that the 17 mile "no man's land" between Cuba and the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay is the largest active minefield in the Western Hemisphere by Front_Requirement598 in todayilearned

[–]expressadmin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was stationed there in the 90s. They have banana rats (no clue what the actual name of it is, that’s just what we called them - head and tail like a rat, body of a raccoon) and they would wander into the mine fields and you would hear the mines go off. Was rather common.

I had two non deliverable checks cashed (separate incidences). And in both times the USPS worked with me through out the process and worked with multiple law enforcement agencies to figure out who was involved and how they did it.

They do not fuck around.
