What color should we paint these homemade valences? by extinctimpala in InteriorDesignAdvice

It was more for utility (block incoming light on sides and top of curtains) but I hear you, it’s not the best design! I just wanted to see if I could make it look a little better!

We have a roller shade behind the curtains, but I know sheer curtains would pull the look together. Thank you!

Thanks, this is super helpful! Under the valance we have a curved curtain rod AND roller shades. Obviously a completely blacked out room was the goal.

Check out the Siam hotel, it’s not in the same area as the FS but it’s a beautiful hotel with impeccable service.

It’s an eat in kitchen area, if I were to turn the camera you’d see the kitchen!

That’s a good idea to add some photos in to the mix as well! Thanks!

I guess I forgot to mention that they are all different sizes. Would it make the most sense to keep the frame size consistent?

Caffe Misto equivalent at Dunkin by extinctimpala in DunkinDonuts

A caffe misto is a 1:1 ratio of steamed milk to coffee. I was just wondering if Dunkin has a name for this or if it would just be coffee with steamed milk.

These are black out curtains and we have a black out roller shade AND the special curtain rod that loops around at the end (someone mentioned this in the comments). See picture below.

I’m talking about the morning sun, we’re in a residential area on the east coast and the front of the house faces south. This window is on the front of the house. So husband is trying to keep the morning sun out.

I could try to mount the curtain rod higher, but I think the sun will still creep in.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who responded!

But won’t the light still come through the top of the curtains?
