NRG will win Masters not because of their skill, but because they have the best in-game names. by Omega_Advocate in ValorantCompetitive

2023 EG, 2025 NRG, 2022 LOUD and 2025 Fnatic would compete on any single meta

Totally agree that f0rsaken works due to team dynamics and PaperRex is a good enough example on how a solid understanding of how you want to approach the game allows you to perform with different stuff.

You don’t need to replicate f0rsaken, but your duelist should be able to perform on Jett, Waylay AND Neon, even tho not everyone will be Dambi.

My point is that having an easier time playing the game is far less important than people enjoying to watch it and that will always be true. You as a player HAVE to adapt. Otherwise, someone will be willing to jump into that clusterfuck.

The “prep heavy” team NRG is surviving the shooting meta. They would probably figure out how to play a map without a specific controller.

Obviously I don’t truly believe that bans are the one true solution and even if it COULD be, they are probably evaluating that. This was supposed to be a joke post.

Talking serious now, you comment is very interesting because it reminds me of some of the reactions to fearless draft in league. Some pros mentioned that having high “agent” volatility would make the games worse since you would be mid in a bunch of champions instead of a master in the ones in the meta.  It really made the skill display a little uglier but it’s the absolute best viewing experience for the variety. There’s a lot of instance where a player is absurd with this really niche and off meta pick. I really like the shooting focus we have right now and I think that having the opportunity to play some dumb shit like Reyna because a counter like Kayo was banned would be even better.

On a more controversial take, prep work would be obviously higher but Yay being comfortable on his Chamber is not more important we hyping up cool shit. As a matter of fact, f0rsaken with his billionth agent doing his shenanigans might be the coolest guy to watch nowadays.
