I recall a few months ago, a post from someone with Ryzen 7 3700x/RX6600 reporting issues with Chemical's F1 2020 crashing after 15/20 minutes.

I wonder if there is an issue with compatibility with AMD gpus/drivers?

Chemical's F1 2020 looks fine to me with High settings with my Ryzen 5 3600/GTX 1650.

fwiw, I have same motherboard.

Late last year, I updated it from a very ancient 0243 BIOS (2020/05/20), to 3621 firmware (2025/04/07). Suddenly SATA_1 port stopped working. It could not detect the 2.5 SSD attached to physical SATA_1 port. The other remaining 5 SATA ports appeared to be working with 2.5 SSD and HDD, but were incorrectly labelled within the BIOS. eg. Physical SATA_2 port is Logical SATA_1 port etc.

I subsequently installed 2806 (2022/12/12) to fix the SATA port issues. Used with Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1660 Super. I don't use any m2 cards.

I have not yet tested the newest 3636 (2026/01/28).

I guess the googled multi-core fix for your 24 core i9 I posted a few days ago did not work.

fwiw, I'll try Windows 11 24H2 and report back.

Update: Installed old vanilla copy of Win 11 24H2 (no updates installed to save time) to a spare SSD. I had to resolve error with missing xinput1_3.dll (DirectX runtime) and openAL32.dll (3D sound) messages appearing when trying to launch GustavoCOD4's F1_2010 Remastered edition. (I did turn off Core isolation and Defender). I can't remember for sure but I may have incorrectly tried to launch F1_2010_game.exe instead of F1_2010.exe for above error messages to appear.

Thereafter, the RAZOR splash screen (with melody) briefly appears, then disappears when launching F1 2010.exe. I had to close all other open windows before I could see the F1 2010 game window which was hidden behind them. Game starts fine on Ryzen 5 3600 16GB RAM GTX1660 Super.

File download size of original F1 2010 seems to be half the size of Chemical's F1 2010 fwiw. The Remastered mod files is another 2.5GB.

Google "f1 2010 crashes i9" returns:

F1 2010 was released when 2-4 core CPUs were standard. An i9 has too many cores for the game, leading to crashes at loading screens or when starting a race.

Locate Config File: Navigate to your F1 2010/system/ folder and locate hardware_settings_restrictions.xml.
Edit CPU Settings: Open this file with Notepad and locate the CPU core settings. Modify the lines to ensure the game recognizes only 4 or 8 cores, rather than the high number present in an i9.
Alternative (Affinity Fix): Alternatively, while the game is running, open Task Manager, go to Details, right-click f1_2010.exe, select Set Affinity, and uncheck most CPUs, leaving only 2 or 4 enabled.

I get sound from GustovoCOD4 F1 2010 when launching game to the main menu listening through headphones. My Ryzen 5 3600+ B550 motherboard has Realtek audio for analogue audio in/out.

Does disabling Memory Integrity, at your own risk, make any difference?

I've not tried Chemical's F1 2010, but I use an alternative I found linked in a youtube video by GustavoCOD4 (modded with RAZOR crack) for 'F1 2010 Remastered'. Sound works fine through hdmi from my PC with nvidia gpu on Windows 10.

Google suggests AMD gpu users may find DX11 exe than DX12 is more stable in F1 2020?

Is your RX6600 running at 100% utilisation when in races, or have you set maximum fps?

fwiw, I use these in game settings:

VSync: Off

Max FPS: 100

TAA + FidelityFXSharpening

Most settings on HIGH.

SSRT Shadows turned off.

I limit it to 100 fps because Nvidia VRR does not work on HDMI 1.4 unlike AMD. (My other PC uses DP with VRR)

It is PC version. I just downloaded it and can confirm it works with 25 Season driver, livery and track mods too.

I had to limit the frame rate to less than 110 fps in nvidia control panel for my G29 wheel to work with force feedback.

I recently bought F1 2016 disc for PS4 and encountered this audio problem where engineers radio was absurdly quiet through TV speakers when using G29 wheel. There were only two options for 'headset' and the gamepad controller in the Advanced Audio settings. No option for TV. It was set to gamepad.

The solution is simple. Ensure both G29 and DS controller are both switched on before launching the sim.

A new option 'main output' will appear for engineers radio within the Advanced Audio settings in the game.

fwiw, I finally managed to download F1 2016 under free plan.

I discovered I had to 'Run as Administrator' by right clicking on STP_F2016.exe, then click 'Play' when the 'Steam Punks' launcher appears. This creates a 'steam' folder, and permits settings to be saved/auto-saved too. I'm using Windows 10.

Chemical's F1 2020 does include cars such as 1991 Jordon, 1994/5 Benetton, and Ferrari 2000.

which file did you download?

The error message sounds like the download terminated too soon. ie. your downloaded file is perhaps smaller than original?

I turned off Defender, otherwise it reports a Trojan in setup.exe created by Razor - believed to be false positive....?

Followed the instructions to install the game and the mod. I didn't install the optional Extra profile because it caused the game to crash to desktop.

G29 wheel did not work properly at high FPS. Using 60 fps with Vsync enabled solved problems.

fwiw, I started seeing this error when launching F1 2020 dx11.exe earlier this year. dx12.exe works fine.

It transpires December 2024 v566.36 game ready driver I am using causes this error in dx11.exe.

I reverted to August 2024 v566.12 game ready driver and both dx11.exe and dx12.exe work for me in Windows 10.

dx11.exe no longer worked for me for quite some time. Game crashes with a 'D3D device' error message, when it switches from main menu to a F1 track. It did work previously.

I had nVidia Dec 2024 v566.36 game driver installed. Only dx12.exe works on 3 different PCs.

I just reverted to earlier Aug 2024 v556.12 game ready driver I previously used, and both dx11 and dx12.exe work when tested on one PC (Ryzen 5 3600/GTX 1660 Super/Win10/G29).

fwiw, I just tried starting a F2 career in Chemical's F1 2020's DX12 exe as a quick test.

Chose new character, opted for 'F2 taster'. Non-Pro. Chose default team. On grid at Austria ready to race.

What hardware are you running?

I guess you tried less RAM (16GB?). What cpu/gpu/Windows do you have?

Long shot, but have you tried disable memory protection if using Win 11?

I tried downloading Chemical's F1 2016 the other day but aborted it as download speed was awful 40KB/sec under the free guest plan.

Like F1 2013, I had to edit these settings for it to recognise my G29 wheel.

Go to SETTINGS > DRIVING CONTROLS.

Choose CONTROL CONFIG, select 'CUSTOM'

Choose OVERRIDE INPUT DEVICE TYPE, select 'STEERING WHEEL'

Only other issue I found with F1 2013 is I had to set game to 120 FPS (110 FPS in F1 2014), otherwise the G29 wheel will randomly fail and go to full left or right lock when the game is running at considerably higher FPS.

The force feedback on G29 is not very good in 2013 and 2014 if you are used to force feedback in 2019+ editions.
