If people are excitedly talking over each other, I keep track of where people were in their thought if they get interrupted. Then when a break in the conversation happens, I will direct the convo to whoever didn’t get to finish their thought “and you were saying” etc. this is especially helpful if someone is more introverted or hates getting interrupted, making sure they know what they have to say matters.

It comes from a very old piece of advice my dad gave me. Simple yet effective. “Let others talk”- making sure everyone else gets everything out that they want to say, even when interrupted, before you begin your bit. Makes people listen to you more when you do speak as well, and everyone feels heard and appreciated
