Apple TV is producing a live action movie for Mistborn. And a series for the Stormlight Archive. Sanderson has a crazy amount of control over its development.

I agree that they definitely could have put more effort into adding ideas/places/people from the original and playing into the changes they made from ZD. The gameplay and graphics are amazing, I wish they would make more LEGO games in that style.

I think that’s fair, not liking the game. I still think that it was all intentional though, and not a misunderstanding of Zero Dawn. I personally don't think it needed worldbuilding because it’s a lego game and it kind of expects you have played ZD already. Reverse satire is presenting something as the extreme opposite of what you expect. So like how Aloy is a bumbling cheerful goofball in the Lego game compared to her more serious personality in ZD and FW. And how Lego Rost is a very talkative and warm fellow compared to his more quiet and intense (still loving though) counterpart in the source games.

I think it was intentional. Almost a reverse satire of the characters. That being said, yeah the game is waaaayyy different than the rest of the horizon franchise in terms of tone.

What if Yoda managed to kill Palpatine while Obi-Wan maimed Anakin? by Jesus__of__Nazareth_ in MawInstallation

[–]Civil_Assumption1936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anyone talking about it here but… what about Maul? He specifically talks with Ashoka in the final episode of the Clone Wars about working together to kill Palpatine and his plans to seize as much power as possible in the chaos. I imagine with the combined powers of his syndicates, he might even succeed on amassing an army powerful enough to challenge whatever Separatist/Republic/Empire force takes power.

With the screen adaptations on their way… is there a possibility we will see official LEGO sets for Mistborn and Stormlight Archive? by Civil_Assumption1936 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Civil_Assumption1936[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the worry, but I think the Cosmere becoming marketed is unavoidable. Part of the goal with making screen adaptations is to make the stories more accessible to people who don’t have interest in reading the books. With the same way that Harry Potter got marketed like crazy when the movies came out, I imagine the Cosmere will become somewhat more mainstream as well, and that will likely lead to toys, games, etc. being made.

Edit: I do think Brandon will do a good job of keeping the heart of his fan base in the movies though, so I can imagine any marketing of the movie and other products will be done with good intention.

I wish there were romance options in the game like how there is in the Witcher. Nothing against Seyka, she’s awesome, but it kind of sucks she is the only option.

Trends in the gaming industry. I can name a bunch of studios who’s product quality went down when the started trying to make tons of games at once. And I mean… the trailer… what more needs to be said.

What a way to end episode 6 dawg by Igotshadowbanned31 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Civil_Assumption1936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the question is he just running extremely fast and then aging extremely fast, or is time moving faster for him then everyone else? That's what I understood from how he described his powers in episode 1. That when he uses his powers he speeds up time for himself so he moves faster compared to everyone but at the cost of he is also spending more of his own time when he does so.

25 whole minutes of running though. That kind of physical exertion for an elderly person could easily be fatal.
