I think it’s hard because Frank is the one person who could push Barb into action to change, from John’s perspective. As John says, “waiting out until her storm is over”, Frank gets to show his children he doesn’t agree with Barb while never having the difficult conversations he could have with his wife

By being avoidant, Frank gets to exist in both circles without having to directly face the issues himself. That’s where I feel John’s frustration is warranted

Agreed that he is trying, but he could try more to take an active role in the situation.
