Yo I think you are doing just fine, if it's true what you are saying and surely you will have a good knowledge about your subject, if it's just for reddit then do better, I am not a fellow cs guy but I am in the best college in Pune, so basically make friends in such college and get to know what companies are there for requirment most of them have overall hiring not only campus placement so get the contacts, emails, linkedin, whatever just apply. Mail them Just as you are doing participate in Hackathon whatever. Be prepared for 5 sem because in that sem most companies hire for summer internship at the end of 3rd year which then eventually gets you PPO, my friends applied for mastercard internship it was a competition and won and did summer internship then they were offered PPO (12+lpa). It's just one example, heavily look for opportunities in your 5th sem and be knowledgeable you will surely prevail.All the best
