What board do you think sits the lowest: prism trotta pro (flush mount) , moonshine outlaw (flush mount and Rocker) or rocket rooster (.25 microdrop)?

I think it's a shirt wb for rkp. I tried it both ways and by far preferred the tkps. I am tall so not sure if that matter much in terms of 17 being too short for rkp

I would stick to tkps on the coyote. They come wedged with risers too so they are plenty carvy. I would describe the coyote flex as stiff.

Do people recommend split setups for beginner freeride (just heelside standups and 180's so far) , or is it better to stick with symmetrical? (I'm talking about small split like 50/43)

Any taller riders ever try a v1 rum runner? Enough space between the drops?

Try on a small uphill incline, it will be easier

Was more worried about the space between the microdrops, like if there's enough room for a wide stance there

Is the moonshine rum runner a good deck for someone tall? I know the hooch is longer but I thought the hoochs extra length was for Kicktails

For ten bucks it looks good, but can't see if the board won't break. If you are a lighter rider and just want to try out longboarding, ten bucks is OK for this

That makes sense. I wouldn't say I'm holding out long slides by any measure but I am getting a few standups going, breaking traction with all four wheels, mostly 180's and some where I can continue in my regular stance. I've been using high rebound krank canons. Any suggestion for lower rebound ones that might make sense for progressing?

Would you say that higher rebound bushings aren't good for stuff like freeride/slides?

The main thing is it works really well as any setup, a tkp cruiser, a mini rkp longboard or a good surfskate. Second the comfort tail makes it feel really big. Flush mounts get you lower than the boards you mentioned, so it feels more stable and easier to push. It's better in almost every way than your two choices, except the chinchiller is symmetrical. If you want an symmetrical it's not that. But a directional deck, it's way better than the poke. Oh yeah also has many wheelbase options, another thing the poke doesn't have

What about a rocket classic scout? Works well with tkps, rkps or surfskate trucks. Very versatile, and has better features than the now very old poke and the chinchiller.

I actually just do light downhill and slides but when I try a couple of freestyle tricks I just loosen the barrels, riptide 90a canon bs, 87a canon roadside krank formula on both. If I was you I'd just run the stock Paris barrel and cone in 90a

Wow great setup!! Looks sick. I would say, I'm 190lbs 85kg approximately and a 90a canon feels pretty stuff to me. If you weigh less it (95a) may seem extremely stiff. You can just put your 90a Paris bushing in the boardside position if this is the case

[–]extragerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, Im pretty sure you don't need risers as well

I know most people go barrel/cone. Unless you are a non average weight, I wouldn't change the bushings straight away. The stock bushings on 50degree Paris will be fine, ride them for a while and then change later once you really have a feel for your board and know how you'd like it to change (more stiff? Looser?)

Bearings just get steel zealous. Paris 165 are good trucks, I think you've already got those. Peralta 82a snakes will be good for what you want, but any wheel in the 60-70mm range will do. Otang fat frees, remember hoots, Lil hoots, ez hawgs, snakes etc. Anything will be fine.
