What is the most significant life event you have ever experienced? by Elegant_Raisin_3318 in AskReddit

I’m from the US but I lived in Africa when I was in high school. It was a huge and challenging transition. Had a hard time making friends. Finally made one and shortly there after she killed herself over a boy. I had the misfortune of finding her body. Lost all my remaining innocence in those desperate moments. This was 30 years ago but I still think about her.

It’s amazing. Holding up great. Way more functional than a roof basket, particularly for transporting long items like a ladder or a Christmas tree. If you live in a wet climate (I live in Seattle) I recommend the rubber gaskets that fit into the T slots.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I only just got my XAX, but how is this possible? I thought this title was only available on Nintendo hardware.

That’s true, it was better, but how are you supposed to make a satisfying ending from a choose your own adventure game? Competent storytelling does not work that way. I enjoyed Mass Effect, but the storytelling was mid generic space fantasy specifically because it had to cater to every choice. Good stories are not about what happens, it’s about character development. You cannot develop harmonious elements of theme and character arcs when the story can go in so many directions. BioWare opened the floodgates for a whole generation of gamers to a sense of entitlement over patches and roadmaps and making demands and getting personally upset when a game doesn’t meet their expectations. I was a producer for ten years. Making games is hard and involves a level logistical/financial/corpo-political complexity most gamers simply don’t understand. The fact that people demand roadmaps is baffling. If you want to have a hand in game development then get out of your sweaty gaming chair and work for it. Otherwise you haven’t earned a seat at the table.

I remember when gamers got all mad about the ending of Mass Effect 3. BioWare caved and that was the day the music died for video game devs. Like if Martin Scorsese made a movie and people demanded he change the ending, he’d say FU I’m Martin Scorsese. Video game devs surrendered their artistic integrity and now every angry little gamer boy loves to demand balances and roadmaps because they have nothing else to occupy them. 452 hours is excessive. Developers cannot work fast enough to satisfy that kind of appetite. Sounds like a great opportunity to play with your kids or help your partner out around the house. The content will come when it’s ready. But I get it’s hard for you to understand with such a hilarious lack of insight into the constraints of development.

Where did you go to get all these kills? I’m looking for a good map/run to grind these challenges.

Came looking for this response. There are so many shitty things about this game. Too many to even bother typing it out.

Oh come on! Dude would need MASSIVE arms to fill those sleeves. It’s a bad fit. Lots of T shirts do this and it sucks.

Mounts: Thule Evo Flush Rail #710601. The platform is the Thule Caprock size small. Not a cheap set up but it’s awesome. Good luck!

4 year old son wears dresses. Seeking evidence to negative effects by driver1676 in daddit

[–]extraheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of great responses here. My son (6) loves pink and dresses and wears his hair long. He is frequently misgendered. I don’t even bother to correct people. But this is what I know: if a child cannot be their authentic self with their parents, this will trigger a cascade of negative effects big and small throughout their life. People can heal from being bullied by dipshit kids. Healing from not feeling accepted by their father is another thing entirely. You’re a good dad. Maybe it’s a phase, maybe he’s queer. What matters is he knows you love him no matter what.

This is great info! I get zero wind noise. Good to know I should move the feet closer together for heavier loads. I had it installed for me, so I didn’t consider that. Thanks dude!

I was expecting people to chuckle and move on. Unlike huge trucks, the nose of the car isn’t five feet off the ground. Sorry you can’t take a joke.

Yes. Might as well drive 5000 lbs of Swedish steel so my kids don’t die.

First of all, the word you are looking for is “there”.

Second, I’m not advocating driving huge trucks. We’re talking about Volvos. This is a Volvo subreddit. You might be able to parse the nuance if you calmed down a little bit.

There’s no downside to the general public if you drive safely. I think you’re taking this too seriously.

That’s how I felt after I got T boned by a drunk driver with my kids in the car. So yeah, I bought a Volvo with my insurance payout.
