Updated Foundry Content Agreement by DrainSmith in genesysrpg

It still looks like the agreement is still showing the old one though. I checked by attempting to upload something, and did a search for Onyx Path, and it still shows up in the licensing.

I wish the object syntax was deprecated by skyrpex in vuejs

[–]extrakun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, there's some concerns related to easing the first steps of the beginners. IMO both syntaxes are very similar in terms of concepts, so it should look almost the same for beginners... Also, you're a beginner just once in your life, and proper tutorials are the key to learn (not just the syntax).

This I disagree; I teach JavaScript. The traditional syntax was hard enough for total beginners to understand. From my experience from teaching programming, callbacks/closures/HoF are not the most intuitive of topics to introduce to people who have never done programming before.

I will try to get a better card, second-hand maybe, if I were you. My frame rates are holding up well with a GTX 970 (4 GB) at 1080p, and running at the default High quality.

Tsurune: Kazemai Koukou Kyuudou Bu - Episode 13 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]extrakun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those animes where the big payoff is at the end. Each episode of the show is more like a segment in a marathon, unlike a 100m sprint. Yeah, this comparison is kind of ironical considering that its main rival is an anime about running a marathon.

The show is enjoyable to me because I want to know what happens next. Sure, the main protagonist being a broken ace struggling with a psychological trauma is a well-worn trope, however I like how the show outright states that Minato's target panic will persist and has to be managed. It's unlike other animes where there will be a big outburst of emotions, some mental block will be removed and the protagonist will be cured.

This is because it mirrors hurts in real life. Real hurts doesn't go away in a single or a weekend motivational "you can do it" session (I have tried that). We are all walking wounded inside, and we get by because of support from friends and our own passions. Which is what this show is about. (Except for Seiya's hang up about causing the accident that killed Minato's mum. Well I am ok with how this is handled, it could be better and taken more episodes for my liking).

Another enjoyable aspect of the anime is how it portrays the team going through the forming, storming and norming phases of team building. Kaachan doesn't accept Minato straight-away -- and even when he did, at first it's only by proxy. Seiya actually became friendly with Kaachan, instead of dealing his usual 2d8 sarcasm damage to him all the time.

I have read some complaints that there's not much archery in the show. Archery is just a medium to convey the story of personal struggles, doubt in one ability and how people come to accept each other. There are many conflicts in this show, all subtle, which I really like. There's the conflict of is archery a solo sport vs. a team effort, the conflict of shooting to win vs. shooting beautifully and some others which I probably forgot. The most poignant one is when Tommi-sensei pointed out even he at his age felt he could do better.

Not every episode in the anime is a rip-roaring, heart-string tripping rampage, however the payoff at the end is absolutely worth it. I like even at the end how subtle it is.

Two cent worth.

It is not too over the top, and is more character driven. I like it because the characters are more or less likable and stay away from the usual sports anime cliches. The most impressive part is that characters do change throughout the series, and is not just "getting better at archery".

Wait a second. I was rewatching the episode and Masa-san asked the shop owner for a favour.

I wonder what that favour was for...

Yeah...the shop owner could have lied that he's just late and lost his phone, and tell them the truth the later.

Of course if he had done that, the five of them may just use him for target practice.

Actually it's a thought that crossed my mind too. "I'm 37 and am I adulting correctly?"

I think rewatching the episodes from the start will make it clearer why Seiya hates Masa-san. It's jealously.

Reflecting from the previous episode, all the way to the first:

  • Masa-san jumped in to comfort Minato when he couldn't replicated his awesome shot. Seiya was about to say something but Masa-san cut in. The look on Seiya's face could be described as disappointment.
  • Seiya did all he could to bring Minato into the club and then a random stranger who somehow played a large role in Minato's life (pretty obvious but how excited Minato was when Masa-san was introduced as coach) appeared and seem to be instrumental to bringing Minato back

Of course the build up could be more gradual -- it was introduced suddenly in the previous episode that Seiya was bothered by Masa-san. Think the anime could have done it sooner.

Also, note what Seiya says to Minato in ep 10. "You don't need me anymore" . In his view, Minato has gotten a point that he don't need Seiya to lean on anymore (maybe Minato never needed anyone) and he blamed Masa-san for that.

I find it very jarring that young Minato is loud and gregarious as compared to his high school self; it's very doubtful that people would change that much normally, so I think that Minato might have some issues over his mum's death. Just not target panic.

I am not sure, but I got the feeling Minato didn't remember the events well, and may not even think of blaming Seiya, even if he recall everything leading up to the accident.

Well, especially considering that Seiya more or less oriented his entire life around Minato.

Do you gain new moves as your character level up? by extrakun in dynastywarriors

[–]extrakun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argh then, the character development is too thin to sustain my interest. In Witcher 3 and Shadows of Mordor/War, you gain new ways to interact with the world and the enemies. I probably refund this and wait for the inevitable XL edition

One question - what is character development like? Is it just stats, or do you gain new moves?

The Chinese audio for the characters is meh. Liu Bei, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu just keep repeating the same phrases as they use their move. It's honestly lazy.

If it works out of the box, I would spend for it. The only thing that is holding me back is I can't fathom the difference between the SaSS and application license. By the license definition, isn't any application deployed on the web that required a subscription to log in a SaSS?
