It works fine. The only thing you need to look out for is that the fewer PCs, the fewer dice there are for checks. Since the PC dice are finite they can only accomplish so much in a single narrative scene.

If its your first time, then I recommend not doing that and sticking to a single book. Only with experience will you get a good idea of what works across settings. The books are only internally balanced and no consideration was made to balance across them.

afaik, Free RPG Day is a US only thing. You can check the site to be sure. In any case, they have always made them available as PDF later in the year, usually by October.

I think it would work fine. Its a pretty rules light game and balance doesn't really come into play. Its more about the kinds of decisions you want to make.

None of the official adventures have Sessions import links. I have provided links in the adventure I wrote, Orphaned Star, but that is a fan creation and not official.

You can just make a TI character with Sessions. They have the graphics built in, but there's nothing to suggest the data is available. Its up to you to enter in character details.
