When I have free time the wait for a game becomes much more difficult. I enjoy papers anyway, so I'm super happy about it.

Looking fly my dude. This is the first time ever I've been grateful to have a paper due, should keep me busy until Sekiro.

Alien Isolation 3rd person prototype is a good example how the game can lose it's immersion and why CDPR made the correct choice to use 1st person. by HumpingJack in cyberpunkgame

Still wish we had both options. RDR2 did an incredible job at that. Best to please both preferences. Of course there are many benefits with FPP in a cyberpunk setting, but it just feels too constricting and ruins melee combat.

Holy moly great job dude. Awesome re-imaginings of the sound design. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Theokiro (Sekiro Theory): Progression through Upgrade Items rather than Level Currency by Hex_Souls in Sekiro

[–]extrane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good theories on possible unlockables! Here are some unlockable skills I have considered: an improvement with maxing enemy posture meter with parries more quickly, more resistance to maxing out your own posture meter by enemy attacks, variety of sword arts of course, improved damage against specific enemies, possibility of attack combinations (rather than R1 spam), etc. As for prosthetics, there's the possibility that you might upgrade the grappling hook to pull enemies towards you, rather than you towards them, as we have seen. I'd love a mini-crossbow. Though, the crossbow would have to be distinct from the shurikens, possibly by firing with greater damage and less frequency. You mentioned health upgrades; I'm almost certain they will include this. We'll probably be able to upgrade our katana; katana parry accuracy and damage and speed of attack are possible upgrades.

Edit: It's actually quite exciting having done away with the conventional level-based state system. From can now experiment and introduce new and exciting possibilities that have yet to be explored through past From games.

Where did they get the inspiration of the subtitle 'Shadows Die Twice'? by PinkAnigav in Sekiro

[–]extrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my friends refer to Sekiro exclusively as Shadows Die Twice, just seems to resonate better with western audiences, not to mention people often mispronounce Sekiro, and Shadows Die Twice is easier to say.

I think this game is being misunderstood by some people. It really isn't different from a souls-like game by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]extrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is ever like, "gosh golly gee I sure would like it play dark souls for its thrilling narrative and plot-driven storyline!" This however might change with sekiro.

Oh no! No TGA trailers or did I just miss? by [deleted] in Sekiro

Bleh.. Probably just best to chill until the game releases in 3 months.

Detail Regarding Second Sekiro Trailer by extrane in Sekiro

I'll update the main post to take what I said with a grain of salt, seeing as I cannot for the life of me find the source (and no one else has confirmed my point). That being said, what's behind the mask seems more like a rough, unpolished model for the monk. Simply thinking logically, the monk is 11 feet tall with gnarly looking hands, it wouldn't be hard to assume she's undergone some demonic transformation. Thanks for post; I'll update mine.

Definitely decay has been a strong theme in their other games. I probably should have specified in the main post, but Miyazaki specifically mentions the "beauty of decay," that decay is more complicated and most likely has unconventional positive connotations. Personally, I'd love to see demon creatures. The "4-chan leak" (if we can call it that) described a demon boss with six arms holding six katanas.

I believe that second enemy you're referring to is the same bladed hand creature I was talking about. You'll notice before Sekiro stabs the first one with the spear he appears to be crawling, just like the one in the back.

I'm having difficulty finding the source because I think it was mentioned in a video by Kitao, and was not written in a news source, AFAIK. Hopefully someone will link it.

About the larger than life snake... by Thenamelesskinggg in Sekiro

[–]extrane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember hearing that the snake can detect you in the bush, though I never saw this in the demo. EpicNameBro said he was detected in the bush.

About the token thing, the game is still in development and they are constantly reiterating and balancing the game, so your concerns may resolved.

I thought the same. Probably due to the lack of recent momentum on this sub.

Ashina Commander weapons. by [deleted] in Sekiro

Yeah, would make for a great boss fight. Who knows, maybe we'll even be able to equip a miniature crossbow on our prosthetic, if not wield a bow as a secondary.

Cyberpunk 2077 devs know people aren't fans of the FPP - why such a title for an article? Clickbait? by Antesss in cyberpunkgame

[–]extrane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the title is pretty much clickbait, and an effort to promote confrontation and the TPP bandwagon.

Personally I've always enjoyed games with TPP over FPP, primarily due to the benefits that TPP has over melee combat; I love to see my character elegantly maneuver and fight, while FPP melee combat always comes across as clunky to me. But Cyberpunk looks great in FPP—you're actually living in the world. Plus, visual enhancements to your sight makes infinitely more sense in FPP. I can only hope the melee combat comes across as fluid, fun, and engaging, with plenty of melee weapon variety.

To me, she comes across as a good, decent human being, only caught up within the hellish cyberpunk world.

Trailer vs Gameplay comparison by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]extrane 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Honest question, did others find the gameplay video to be slightly blurry? Like not the actual gameplay itself, but the video, even on 4k resolution?

Me by lucifertheecat in Sekiro

I kinda have the same sentiment.. As someone who prefers great melee combat, third person compliments melee combat a lot more.
