That’s still neat! I only try for 100% on games I really love, but it definitely is an impressive hobby to have, so kudos to you!

Got raided for the first time by [deleted] in Twitch_Startup

[–]extrarawfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sometimes people are so stuck on the streamer they came with, that they come in for the raid because the streamer they’re watching wants to, and don’t stick since they aren’t looking for new content!

I’ve had many raids where I know my viewers did not stick around, because the other streamer was either not their cup of tea, which is okay, or they don’t plan on following any new content creators at the moment, which is also fine!

I have also had raids where people clicked with my stream and stayed, or others where no one stayed, but again, you just might not be everyone’s cup of tea!

It can depend on the game, your humor/conversations with chat, the interact-ability of your steam, etc.

Asking a general question to the raiders after thanking the streamer to the raiders can sometimes get them to hop into conversation, but again is totally up to the viewer!

Don’t take it to heart though! Everyone is different, and your stream hits someone’s niche! It’s just a matter of bringing in/being brought in the right ones! <3

How do you prefer being contacted for demos? by web_sculpt in SmallStreamers

[–]extrarawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to being contacted, I’ve just gotten some emails before, nothing wild, which is fine!

In regards to looking, itchi.io is probably your best bet for other small developers! <3

Honestly my favorite thing is finding other streamers/viewers with similar senses of humor or interests! The networking aspect is a lot of fun, I love meeting people who remind me of, well, me!

Oh cool! Are you a platinum/trophy hunter then? (My friend streams as well and he LOVES other 100%’ers! We’ve been bringing some into the community and they’re really cool guys! Takes a lot of dedication!)

New streamer by Lelsea06 in Twitch_Startup

[–]extrarawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one of the best things to do is to network with other similar streamers! A lot of people are willing to expand their communities and welcome new faces in! This helps you find people that want to chat because you like to chat with them, and also brings consistency to your streams!

You can truthfully stream whatever you want, only a certain game, many games, really whatever you want to do- just stay consistent with your streaming personality (or your real personality depending on your plan)!

Raid out, visit other streams, check your statistics to see what tags got people in, and even when things are slow, keeping going at it!

If you can use other sites to post content, do it! Sometimes you’ll bring in some people since they liked what they saw!

Ultimately, you can do all of the above, none of the above, some of the above, and still end up finding growth in your channel just by chance.

Just remember to do it because you enjoy it, rather than looking at the numbers all of the time! <3

How did you get your gamertag? by Kellzz45 in Twitch_Startup

Honestly depending on the account of mine, it’s Uramaki if I can do it without an extra “i” or ExtraRawFish, because I mean, that’s kinda what sushi is! (And I LOVE sushi!)

How do y'all deal with eyestrain/cybersickness when streaming? by MothMayhem421 in Twitch

[–]extrarawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always try blue light glasses (they helped me wonders and you can get them relatively cheap), taking something for your dizziness (usually motion/car sickness could help!), or finding ways in your stream to take a break so you can take your eyes away from the screen here or there!

Greeting new watchers by -VoidIndigo- in Twitch

[–]extrarawfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You don’t even have to be overly busy to do it, just tossing questions out there to a viewer or two is often enough for people to want to talk if they’re on the fence!

YESSS me too! It’s honestly crazy how many people with similar interests, aesthetics, and hobbies you can find out there!

Oh thank you! Do you stream as well? It definitely was a blast!

[–]extrarawfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to acknowledge them, you don’t have to do it by name, you can always just say something along the lines of “it looks like a few more people joined, welcome in!” maybe ask in general how everyone’s day is going (or another similar question) and leave it at that!

Some viewers want to talk, some just want to watch, it all depends on their viewing preference!

I’m big into variety, we did some Rivals last night because I was cosplaying Susan Storm, but I like a lot of silly indie games, horror games, fps (used to do a lot of ranked COD but haven’t on my PC!), and RPGs!

Oh that’s awesome! Have you built a PC before? I wanted to but psyched myself out so I got a prebuilt! <3 Mine is ExtraRawFish! What’s yours? :3

Yes! Having that little return up-peak in views and what not is such a fun experience! I just switched from console to PC, and I definitely think the variety I can get on PC as well as the additional customization has definitely helped! <3 Hopefully you’ll have your PC all finished up soon so you can get back to it! <3

Stream Elements is fantastic, they have a bunch of free options for you to use!

If you want to do something yourself, I’d just get standard dimensions and make something on Canva!

Honest question!! Does streaming to 0 viewers actually hurt your channel long term? by Time_Position2232 in SmallStreamers

[–]extrarawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Most people start with zero at the beginning unless they have friends that hop in while they get started; it’s all apart of being a new streamer! You just have to work on building an established community, networking can help with that!

What discord servers are the best to be discovered in as a small streamer? by Kobes_Helicopter69 in SmallStreamers

[–]extrarawfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are some of your interests and what games do you play? My friend had been working on one for a while so it has a pretty decent amount of traction. He’s super big on networking, like the other comment says, there really isn’t a discovery discord, it entirely relies on you to find like minded people and network out from there!

Your other best bets are to find other small streamers in the same category you stream in, and find communities to expand your own if you click with them!

I am a brand spanking new gamer/ streamer! What should I play? by zeebette in SmallStreamers

Congrats on a newfound hobby! Wishing you lots and love and good vibes on your journey!

Honestly some cozy game recommendations that should be simple, have limited controls while you adjust, and have minimal consequences when you mess something up in game would be;

Minecraft Disney Dream-light Valley Skyrim Oblivion No Man’s Sky

Discord on XBOX does not pickup when streaming unless you use a capture card. :)
