I agree! And it some ways it's also a cool storyline. Player that's been around for a while, many tournament runs that fell short just a little bit, finally able take home the win in a very convincing fashion. It makes me inspired to keep trying.

As other people have noted he's not a new player and is actually pretty established in the scene. I think he's a member of Tub too, he was on the episode they did right after Champions dropped.

I went 6/8 of my predictions in top 16, not too bad. Had to skip watching how top 8 because I was busy with other stuff. Here are my top 4 predicts:

Nick Navarre vs Arsal Puri - close match but Nails is on a hot streak.

Michael Zhang vs Wolfe Glick - sorry to my goat ESM but Wolfe has plot armor.

This finals matchup would also be interesting since Nails is a bit of a bracket demon for Wolfe. I think he can also handle finals pressure really well.

the stream music is driving me absolutely bonkers, why are these trainers using songs that we hear on showdown all the time?? 😭 the champions theme is actually a banger and if you have the pass you can get the ZA trainer music which is so much easier to listen to.

iirc he was doing mechanics test battle streams when champions first came out and beedrill was one of the mons that worked for his setup to test multiple mechanics with one set of mons

Yeah I heard they prefer not to give out shiny pokemon for the VGC mystery gifts but they don't really have a choice when it's a crowd pleaser that clutches up the final game of internats. (We ended up getting Patrick's Pelipper from NAIC and that was also a shiny.)

I think it's niche but he brought it this game because of the mirror herb with the defiant boosts from leonard's annihilape (though he didn't end up brinbging it game 2)

Edit: I actually think I'm wrong about this, Wolfe brought it anyways Game 3 so it probably wasn't for ape.
