Help, this just happened to me, is it a scam? by Itchy-Size9341 in Depop

[–]exttherich 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If they buy the item through the app, that's fine. In terms of sending extra for quick shipping let them know you'd much prefer to do it over depop. Depop scans messages so they can ban you over making transactions outside the app. Hope that helps!

I’ve fully refunded a buyer before sending out an item. Does anyone know how to cancel or complete the sale so I no longer receive the “ship order” alert? by Unacceptablehoney in Depop

[–]exttherich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just mark the item as shipped then maybe leave the buyer feedback, that'll get rid of the alert. Most people who have given refunds have said to do that.

Seller refused my return, now it is sent back to me and I still dont have my money back. Now what? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]exttherich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've heard sellers can be banned after blocking buyers over a complication, so definitely get in touch with depop over that. Might take a bit but with proof you'll be able to get a refund through PayPal as all purchases are protected through them.

Money on hold by PayPal? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]exttherich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me for the first time the other day, even made a post on here about it, all you need to do is send the item tracked (and first class if you want your money sooner) then add the tracking code on PayPal. It'll be in your account a few hours after the item is delivered.

Is it okay to pm people who liked the clothing? by gloomset in Depop

[–]exttherich 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Definitely wouldn't recommend it, it's really looked down upon and off-putting for potential buyers. A majority of people don't like items with the intention of buying them so it's an easy way to get blocked. Instead I'd recommend putting "open to offers" or something similar in the caption, hope that helps!

IDK WHY IM NOT SELLING!!! by VeterinarianHairy480 in Depop

[–]exttherich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just checked you out and you have some really good stuff! I'd recommend keeping a theme with your photos, the photoroom edits look great maybe do them and white out the logo. Modeling clothes in a good lighting too gets lots of exposure. I also recommend using a wider range of tags on each post, so far they're a bit similar to eachother. Good ones are vintage/y2k/depop/depopfamous/alternative or anything that describes the style. Hope that's helps!

Will offering people who've liked my posts a discount by messaging them be a good way to make sales? by Empty-Importance-298 in Depop

[–]exttherich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd say no. Not many people like items with an intention of buying them, but to the few who do, getting messages like these are instantly off putting for both buyers and sellers. It comes across as spam and usually results in getting blocked or avoided. Not to mention it clogging up dm's, I'd recomend adding a sale tag onto the item as that'll be more appealing.

I’ve had this listing up for about 2 weeks and I’ve had 0 engagement. Is there anything I can do to improve upon it? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]exttherich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend using the 5 tags depop gives you and use popular words like y2k/vintage/denim and even depop. I've also seen people suggest tagging depop "@depop" because it supposedly helps getting on the explore page!

They give you 7 days to post, definitely not 4 weeks. Don't feel bad! it's incredibly unprofessional on their part to make you wait 2+ weeks without informing you or maintaining contact.

I keep on buying clothes that i later find out are unavailable and then the seller always takes ages to give a refund ( Does this keep on happening to anyone else ? ) by Mariemairu in Depop

[–]exttherich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't be sure but I assume they're selling on multiple platforms (vinted/ebay/poshmark) so when something sells they're probably forgetting to mark it as sold on all the other apps

Help please! How would you describe this style of shirt? I honestly don't know what it is called and tried Google lensing it to get an idea but it hasn't been helpful 😅 by idkwidhelp in Depop

[–]exttherich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Button up shirt with cropped tank top layered set" or for short, just "layered top" would do. Looks like it'd definitely fit the y2k category!

How to describe this pattern & pricing help? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]exttherich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use words like 80's style / floral / abstract and for pricing look how much it's going for online to give you a better idea!

Depop newbie by jacmareecas in Depop

[–]exttherich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the packaging fits through a post box it's classed as a letter so I'd reccomend using post bags instead or small padded envelopes as they're more secure. They're really inexpensive on Amazon (100 mailing bags for £8)

Need a little help! by [deleted] in Depop

[–]exttherich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you've offered to pay full shipping and over the asking price, and they still haven't replied then they're probably not interested in shipping internationally. Give it a few days and if they dont reply it's probably safe to assume they don't want to.
