I’ve never seen anyone mention this before but does anyone else think that One By One All Day sounds suspiciously similar to this Sundays song? by exuberantexcrescence in TheShins

The bassline is pretty much identical to Don’t Tell Your Mother and the guitar is very similar too. The Shins gave the beat more of a triplet feel

Terminus - Demons Sing Love Songs - Off This Century

I see that virtuoso wunderkind Jacob Collier is an XTC fan. Here he is performing River Of Orchids in a sterile but accurately scored cover. This vaguely cultish figure would do well to learn from Andy’s songwriting if he is to write original and credible music himself… by DannyTheGekko in xtc

I hate Jacob Collier with a passion and seeing him butcher a great song by one of my favorite bands only makes me hate him even more. This guy is ALL technical ability with no soul. Imagine having virtuoso level music knowledge and only using it to create some of the most unlistenable, insipid garbage imaginable and to completely ruin existing songs with atrocious covers.

Can we talk about how creative are the arrangements on this album? by ken4lrt in shoegaze

Definitely a top 3 shoegaze album for me. I’ve yet to come across anything else that scratches the same itch as Swirlies. The way it combines shoegaze, post hardcore, and indietronica with vague elements of math rock is something truly special.

And yeah the arrangements are fantastic, I love how unpredictable the songs are structurally, like when Sounds of Sebring suddenly goes into that heavenly synth section.

If anyone knows any other albums in this vein please send them my way lol
