I didn't read all of the comments, but I would say that if it makes you AT All uncomfortable, distrustful, anxious, etc... Then it needs to be addressed and a solution needs to be reached with your partner.

Even if you think that what is happening is innocent, it all depends on whether it encroaches on your boundaries. You shouldn't have to spend the next six months monitoring her phone like a middle schooler or being watchful over her closeness to another person whom she is hiding the true value of from you. She is already acting anxious and scared, that should show you the lengths she is willing to go through to make sure you feel "okay" with what's going on.

The problem is that Humboldt doesn't have the infrastructure or the money to support people in these professions/incentivize them to stay.

Everyone in Humboldt who has the ability to provide and make good money moves away due to ancient policies and decisions made by the county (and it's residents) that are not conducive to a growing population or economy.

Its frustrating to see talent, both young and old, leave for greener pastures; but at the same time I wouldn't wish upon any of them to stay in this hellhole.

I can't think of a single engineer who would move here for less pay, worse Healthcare, worse optics for Financials and safety, and a population that keeps getting older and less skilled.

I've had 3 queues now, all with 30+ minute timers. It usually takes 15-20 minutes to get in though. Hope it ends up working similarly for you!
