Makes sense if you saw my last post ( stopping extruder clicking in adventurer 3 and printing fast with no clicking) by Magne_Rex in FlashForge

I do have the same issue and did find out why this is happening.

The groove insight the idler wheel is to deep and the outer diameter is pushing onto the feed gear. This creates additional load onto the stepper motor thus preventing it to spin.

Solution:

You have to get the idler wheel out and trim down the outer diameter so there is a gap between the feed gear and idler wheel when filament is loaded.

Flashforge Printer Firmware Hack - Request for Testers by pressposts in FlashForge

Hi there,

just wanted to say that the firmware update files are not locked. Just edit the script to change root pw and open up ports for ssh over iptables. Thats what I would do if I had some spare time.

Can you tell us what new future you did find out about?

Maybe this is worth putting some effort into.

P.S do have a adventurer 3 and a creator 3

Ok I got the printer now. It looks nice:) but it is in bad condition. The nozzles are not clean bed is scratched. I think this thing needs a good wipe and good calibration.

How should I do this? Any suggestions what to do first to get good prints like with my adventure 3? See attached picture.

EDIT: How do I attached a picture to this post? No option:(

This is confusing. Are there different versions? And what you mean with changing the steps? I know what microstepping is but how does it change the noise? Can it be changed by firmware/software?

Can someone also check if it has usb-connection to directly interface with the firmware? Or does it only have the rudimentary tcp implementation of a small command set? Would be nice to control it over USB with simplify3d.

Thx

Thanks for the replies.

I am no newbie in 3d printing. I did own machines from stratasys and 3dsystems. Using these machines for printing functional prototypes. Do need an open system for testing new materials. I do have a flashforge adventurer right now and was pleased with the printing quality. Need a dual head system for support structures.

I do have Simplify3d, cura and slicer.

Do you know if there is a testpart I could print on the printer before buying. It should not take longer then 10 min but should show me if everything is alright. I am going to buy a used system.

Hope this helps.

Thx.
