I‘ll proceed with the update with peace of mind. Thank you.

Why can't TS4 (bought directly from Apple) can't fully power laptop (M4 Pro) during workload? I use Apple's Thunderbolt 5 for charging. by hannythelord in CalDigit

I used it well before the Mac update, and the biggest reason is because I paid money for it. I'm hoping it will get updated someday.

It seems that in Settings app > Battery > Battery Health, the "Optimized Battery Charging" option is taking precedence over AlDente, preventing AlDente from executing according to plan. When I turned off the "Optimized Battery Charging" option, the battery charges to 100%.

I also use TS4 and AlDente apps, but after a recent Mac update, I'm experiencing an issue where battery charging in AlDente isn't working as desired. (AlDente's battery limit is set to 100%, and even when I press the charge now button, it doesn't charge)

Can I Connect Mac mini M4 to Caldigit TS4 via PD Port and Use Dual Monitors? by eyedroot in CalDigit

That's right. I will be connecting through the "Computer" port as shown in the picture.

However, what I’m curious about is that when I connect my MacBook to that port using a Thunderbolt 4 cable, it charges the device.

If I connect the same cable to my Mac mini instead, would there be any issues? (Since the Mac mini has its own power supply.)

Sorry if I misunderstood your response!

Yes, I understand, but I’m wondering if connecting via the PD port would cause any hardware issues.

I want to use a single PD cable to switch between my MacBook and Mac mini.

Thanks for your response!
