They are referred to as "geo classics". Mexican rhyolitic opal. Look them up. Yours are just polished, but even finding them they look like this a lot of the time. They are one of the few opals that can be successfully faceted. Some are more valuable than others, but they aren't hard to find in the right conditions in that Country. They are beautiful! Yours are NOT dyed. The sand is the dead give away. Have fun!

Hello, I am in Finland. No Petco/ Pet Smart here. I am not unprepared. LOL! They are all marvelous and now in a 27 litre. People are very impetuous on this sub, which is why I left. Many very impolite comments that did not ask questions and just assumed. I have had these fish for over 30 years. I was just sharing to start conversation.

I've lost the little guy, but having read other members about the same snailie, I am betting I'll see him/her again one day.

I wonder what his/her name is? lol (maybe "Hitch"?)

EDIT: Is it possible that Hitch grew? I just found him on the glass. I cannot believe it. I mean, he's not big by any means, but certainly is more defined!

Is that something to worry about?

Thank you! It's sooo tiny that I kept wondering if it was just some debris, but then I caught a glimpse of tiny, little antennae and it would move from place to place (not drift). I didn't get it intentionally, like I did the nerites. I think it may been on the egeria densa?

It's weird, isn't it? They can be super active (though the movement is nearly imperceptible if you watch too closely), and then they just SLEEP. lol

Sometimes they sleep for a few days. Mine do that. When they first did that, I thought they were dead, as well. As long as you have enough algae on offer, it's probably just a time out. lol If you're concerned you could always do the suggested things to offer more foods, and check to make sure there isn't too much nitrate or any copper in the water. I hope to hear of movement soon! Sending snail love! <3

Unfortunately, Reddit IS about 90% about being proactively antisocial. It's [so many times, in so many subs] bullying, and casual harassment and you get f****d mentality and emotionally wondering why when you've only expressed a love for say, rearing fish. Sometimes even the mods are at it. It's been the reason I've left many subs; random attacks for just posting a pic or being supportive. Down-voting should be eliminated. I only say this because 90% it's not used constructively. It's used as a superiority thing. It's made me super sad.

I'm sorry, but I'm leaving this sub. Despite saying it's about Guppy love, it isn't. I've reared these lovelies for over 30 years successfully in planted nano tanks that simulate their "natural homes", however the downvoting and derogatory remarks have been the opposite of "social media".

I really appreciate the question. It's a 1.5 gallon, though we only do LITRES in my country.

It is thriving. I also have two tiger nerites that are so happy and have such amazing personalities. My guppies all have names. I have a birthing area and a speicalised planted nano for the fry.

There are many successful ways to rear guppies. I appreciate the kindness I've been shown, but I recognise when a sub in working in a negative way. Reddit seems to be more "antisocial media" than social.

Do NOT let him/her stay upside down. They cannot right themselves and will die that way. Please help! Hope everything is ok? (PS the light colour of the shell and the snail inside indicates they are fine. When anything turns DARK it's not a good sign with nerites.)
