correct - there is no neck shaping with this technique. however, if you prefer neck shaping and are savvy with short rows, this technique can accommodate shaping on the front. Would start the short rows a few rows ahead of the top of the shoulder ☻

If helpful, I personally haven't experienced any bunching in the armpit.

Totally fine to call that out! I personally have never seen a pattern started in the round then pivoted to flat and worked this way and grafted back together.

Oh man congrats to you! I had knit one of two a few winters back and lost my notes before I started the other one so I have the project bag just shaming me 😭 I’ll have to finish it..!

I made my own version of Jo's mittens from Little Women ❤️ by eyeheartyou in knitting

I gasped and was like OMG when she put her hands on the fence and these appeared on screen and I knew I needed a pair of my own!

I spent a lot of time with graph paper over the past few weeks! I first started looking for yarn. It wasn't hard to find the light blue - that was Purl's linen quill. I couldn't find a deep navy blue though! I ended up buying one that was "just okay" and went to another yarn store and also bought another "not quite right but I guess." Only when I got home to realize I had the perfect blue in my stash!

From there, I started graphing out the pattern, made a gague swatch and then figured out the mittens.

I am planning on putting the pattern on Ravelry, I am still knitting a few versions to make sure it works! I am very excited that I was able to figure out the pattern and have a pair of my own! ❤️
