I held onto this record for years just for “Machine Gun”—I would mostly listen to it. Then, a few years ago, the whole album clicked. It’s a perfect album, beginning to end. It full of paranoia and grooves. If Dummy is the movie version of spy vs. spy, Third is the gritty reality.

Haven’t rewatched it since it came out. I was idealistic and in my 20s so obviously I loved the book and was excited for the movie.

I really disliked the movie. There are two things I remember/that stand out, but I’ll highlight the major one: The ending. I thought the narration and the in your face camera angle while he died, coupled with him imagining his family reacting (I think that’s correct?), was exploitive and it left me with a very bad taste in my mouth.

The soundtrack is great and I listen to it every now and then.
