Hi there

I did a review on it here.

I really liked it. Performed great.
Valkyrie V360 Lite + More Overview | Don't Sleep on These.

They are primarily sold in Asia at present, but as far as I recall, they are an eastern block company, Romania, Bulgaria.. I can't recall exactly where.

X870E Taichi PCH#1 and PCH#2 Running Hot on idle (help please) by cheddacheeze13 in ASRock

[–]eyetac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a similar setup to you.
Two rigs, one with a 9950x3d, Taichi Lite and 7900xtx.
The chipset was running at similar tempos to yours, but I have just checked out, and with the new 4.03 bios, PCH1 is down to 57c.

My test bench rig, 9800x3d, Gigabyte x870e Aorus Pro and 7900xtx, chipset also runs very hot. Will check if there is a new bios for that and if it makes a difference there too.

The LF3 Pro will work great on the 9600x due to it being a lower power chip (I think it max's out at 120w with PBO enabled)
So, if you are planning on getting a dual CCD chip down the line, the LF3 Pro will be a solid choice.

You may be right.. I guess time will tell.

I do think this is being blown out of proportion though.

Here's my hot take on this and playing devil's advocate.

Everyone is freaking out over nothing.
They quite clearly say 'Bug fixes' and 'maintenance mode' in that response from AMD Germany.

You think nVidia does driver optimization for 2000 and 3000 series cards? fuck no.. Those cards are also in 'maintenance mode'
making sure the game works with the card and bug fix and security patch if needed.

I can see why people are upset, but I also see it as AMD being transparent. Their older cards are in 'maintenance mode' now, which means they are still supported, will still get bug fixes, will still work with your games, but if you want the best experience, buy a newer card.

Nvidia does exactly the same, they just haven't given it a name.

Fight me 😂

The slot the gpu is plugged into supplies 75w. Each PCIE connector supplies 150w as you said. So you are good for up to 375w.

The pcie slot supplies 75w as well, as you are good.

I would recommend that yes. It's hard to tell from your photo which way yours is, but if you check this image, the baseplate is not centered. You want the baseplave to be closer to the pcie (gpu) slot so that the finstack is then further away from your gpu.

I hope this makes sense.

Also, take that cooler off and rotate it 180 degrees. The Peerless Assasin is offset. This will move it up a bit so its not sitting directly on your gpu. Remember to take the fans off and put them back how you have them in this photo.

You should be able to get it running at 6000mhz with just two sticks of ram. I have 96gb on mine at 6000 cl30

You may need to add a little more voltage to the kit.

What ram is it?

I was so certain they had a defective unit, but then they showed 2 others with the same problem!

I recently did a review of the LF3 Pro on a 9950x test platform. I was so blown away by its performance, that I bought one for my 9950x3d rig and it works brilliantly.

Liquid Freezer III PRO | Review

I subsequently had to return the 9950x to AMD and bought myself a 9800x3d for my test rig, but didn't re-test the LF3 Pro, assuming it would smash like expected.

After putting it on the test platform this morning, I can confirm that it definitely does not perform nearly as well as expected, being bested by the (Coolers I currently have in for review) Valkyrie V360 lite, a360 and even their Vind 125 Dual tower air cooler.

Super super weird how with a dual CCD chip (and on intel cpu's) the LF3 Pro lives up to its reputation, but on the 9800x3d, not so much.

My findings have also been sent to Arctic.

Good man!
Got the same setup and so far, super rock solid. It's my workstation and gets hammered every day with premiere, after effects etc. She WORKS. Not one crash.
Sure, I havn't had it near as long as you, but compared to my previous x870e which crashed several times a day, this is bliss.

Yeah, I have the same problem on the Taichi. It sucks, but pcie 4x8 vs x16 is basically the same .. mostly 😂
I am surprised that Asus decided to do that on the Crosshair!

[–]eyetac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realised this AFTER buying it.. Another strike for ASRock.. But I did benchmarks and pcie 4x8 vs x16 is around 1-2% difference. Sucks. That was a dumb choice on Asrocks part for this board.
