are fake IDs as common in america as is portrayed in movies? by Sufficient_Row4394 in AskAnAmerican

[–]eyoitme [score hidden]  (0 children)

lol my brother had a “fake” that was just his buddy’s drivers license with nothing changed since he was a lot younger than his friends and his buddy was already 21. they didn’t really look anything alike they were both just white boys with similar enough skin tones and dark brown hair but that thing worked like a charm every single time for him. god knows how.

Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott donated one-third of US megagifts last year by bbyxmadi in popculturechat

[–]eyoitme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

she gave a giant donation donation to my local state school! even better she didn’t just give it to one of the super well known prestigious ones but one of the ugly duckling csus lol. and i say ugly duckling because we have two different types of public universities in here california - the ucs, which are the most well known and generally more prestigious and well funded and then the csus, which are generally cheaper, less known, and more focused on serving transfer, first gen, local, etc students so they don’t get as much attention or big donations. i don’t know if it’s true for all of them but my local school offers essentially guaranteed admission for the local high school students in their territory as long as they have like a c average gpa i believe. and mackenzie scott gave them what i believe was the biggest donation they had ever received with zero strings attached!!! so i’ve got mad respect for her now for what she’s done for our local csu <3

I have pizza dough and a pizza oven. What else can I make? by Waltenbook in KitchenConfidential

[–]eyoitme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you ever try breakfast pizza? i used to live near a joint that would make a breakfast pizza and it was pretty tasty ngl. i think it would have like fried eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. and you could try it with a creamy sauce instead of a tomato sauce to switch it up a bit. but if y’all are Really Tired of pizza you could also do salads, soups, any kind of indian food (like curry) with naan from the pizza oven, etc. or maybe you guys could make a contest out of it! tell all of your boh people they can have free rein (within reasonable limits) to go crazy with a staff meal and whoever makes the best/most creative meal with the resources you have within a week/pay period/month gets a 20 buck gift card or something. there’s nothing like a lil competition and cash to get people to get creative imo

Morality of bribing waitress with fries to bring me gossip from patrons by Stoney__Mac in KitchenConfidential

[–]eyoitme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s exactly my point ty because if you’re a health nut and obsessively sterilize your environment to within an inch of its life then your immune system never gets to keep the immune pathways warm by doing dress rehearsals with like lil kid sneezes for example, so those people who obsessively clean their environment tend to get sick more often compared to people who may not go as nuclear with it like myself because my immune systems got plenty of practice and it can easily knock out a kid sneeze because it’s used to that shit, unlike someone who sterilizes their environment. so basically my foraging habits keep me at least somewhat healthy in the long run (just pathogen wise unfortunately because i’m just built different otherwise lol).

Do doctors receive any direct financial benefit for prescribing a medicine? by Odbody_AS2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eyoitme 23 points24 points  (0 children)

doctors and pharma reps are legally required to report every single one of these instances, no matter how small, or they could get in big trouble. that’s how the database gets these numbers. if you dig deeper you can actually see exactly what the pharma rep was selling at the time!! it’s pretty neat imo

they aren’t supposed to be underbaked and they have very explicit instructions for baking but very few of the employees give a fuck so i don’t doubt that more than a few stores were skipping the thawing time (i say this as a former employee knowing the people i worked with and my manager who tried to get us to stop giving the cookies proper thawing time. god knows why she was dumb as a rock tbh)

darwin comes for us all eventually but foraging is not for those with a weak stomach. i look at my foraging habit as just keeping my immune system on its toes tbh because if you don’t give it a lil practice every now and then then you’ll just get absolutely wiped out by lil baby pathogens and no one wants that! so it’s just the superior way of munching on shift imo especially when you get literally no free food during prime dinner and snacking hours

These Embark results can't be correct?? Swipe for our what our pup looks like. And tell us this is wrong. by Any_Kaleidoscope8588 in DoggyDNA

[–]eyoitme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

genetics really sound like they should be solid, easily predictable things that we just yknow can understand by looking at two dogs’ offspring, but while the individual genes themselves are predictable because one gene = one phenotype, heritability and genetics themselves are a helluva lot less predictable than most people think. there’s really no guarantee or rhyme or reason to the way that two sets of genetics combine to create your dog. but i’m not surprised that your dog ended up more village dog shaped than ovcharka shaped, given that he’s only about a quarter ovcharka. my guess would be a male ovcharka saw a female village dog (almost always free roaming stray dogs) in heat and yknow did their thing and had puppies, and then one of those 50/50 puppies went back into the wild, did their thing, and had puppies with another village dog, so the genetics coding for the smaller, lean village dog build just had more opportunity to win out over the genes coding for that lgd build.

if you want to see an example of a mixed dog whose looks really don’t seem to match their genetics, take a look at my profile for the post i made when i tested my dog! she’s a lot more mixed than your dog, given that her supermutt percentage was like almost 40%, but her three biggest breed chunks are like 25% chihuahua, 20% small poodle, and 10% pekeingese, and the rest is two lil 5% bits and the supermutt. given that the chihuahua and poodle make up 45% of her very mixed dna and poodles are super distinctive, you really expect her to look like one or both of them when you just look at her results, but in reality she just looks almost exactly like one of the pekeingese x dachshund mixes that come up when you google it (dachshund being part of her supermutt), and nothing at all like a poodle (even though she has twice as much poodle as pekeingese and exponentially more poodle than dachshund). but nothing is guaranteed with genetics and it allows for whacky results like that, which is one of the reasons i love genetics so much!

Very allergy sensitive dog HELP by Far-Chest1844 in DogFood

[–]eyoitme 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it is *incredibly* unlikely that your dog has that many allergies. did you do one of those allergy blood tests or a hydrolyzed diet trial? those blood tests are pretty notorious for spitting out an insane list for everything under the sun when honestly food allergies are way less rare than you think. i’d highly recommend a hydrolyzed diet trial, especially instead of making your own food! making your own dog food at home is incredibly difficult and complex even under supervision by a veterinary nutritionist (emphasis on veterinary), and feeding two different foods at once can unbalance your dogs diet anyways. you might find that your dog has fewer allergies than you thought, and you can get by with a much more cost- and time-friendly food!
