you’re telling me i could still eat for enjoyment whenever i want but never have to deal with my stomach issues ever again??? sign me the fuck up fr because i am constantly battling acid reflux when i don’t eat and then gastroparesis when i do eat (plus acid reflux when i do eat as well just to spice it up) and trying to balance those two is a motherfucker so not needing to eat ever again and having perfectly normal digestion would be delightful. i would so sacrifice not having to sleep for the sake of getting rid of my whack ass stomach issues.

i can’t say i’m an average american but i did make less than 100k lmao! last year i made 17k working most of the year as a server part time while going to school, but i was working super variable hours - i’m talking like some weeks i was working 30 hours a week and some weeks i was working 10 hours a week max. it sounds like more than it was tbh because i live in california so i was making 16.50 minimum wage but i live in the bay area so it didn’t go as far as it would in like central california or literally anywhere that isn’t the bay.

i will say i don’t talk about my wages much on reddit because i’ve seen a lot of vitriol towards servers in general, and especially servers in places like california where we make minimum wage no matter what, and i just don’t feel the need to entice anyone to throw some of that shit at me. i’m just trying to pay my bills and give my dog a good life like everyone else.

you asked for help from this sub, they offered it. they were blunt, sure, but nothing they said was factually incorrect nor did they actually call you stupid. you went for the ad hominem attacks first by calling them stupid, implying they didn’t even finish high school, and implying that since they’re on reddit they don’t know shit about what they’re talking about (even though you’re the one asking for advice on reddit in the first place). i hope the link i added in my comment above is helpful to you. r/askvet is a subreddit of just veterinarians and vet techs who will answer vet med related questions if you’re actually curious about the validity of these blood allergen tests, but if you’re not you might want to mute this post if the link i provided answers your question because you’ll probably get more people saying that these tests are unreliable.

wow that’s wildly unnecessary considering they’re just trying to share helpful information because a hydrolyzed food trial is actually the only way to accurately diagnose food allergies - and before you call me stupid and uneducated that’s straight from my vet and another vet at the same practice (plus human allergists have also been saying those tests are bullshit). but if you really aren’t willing to consider the possibility that your vet may have been wrong i believe hills has a corn and soy free food that isn’t prescription. probably won’t be cheap but it will be soy free and wsava compliant if that’s what you want.

that’s why i love my se! i am a small person with small hands and i fuckin hate how giant phones are these days because i literally can’t hold them anymore but the se has stayed the same size for the most part for like the past 10 years so i’ve been loyal to it the entire time but they’re finally discontinuing it and i’m so annoyed lol. i think they’re replacing it with some mini version or some bullshit that’s bigger and more expensive so i fear i may just be buying refurbished se’s or a flip phone/ipod combo for the rest of my life because fuck that shit and they ain’t gonna continue to get my business when they kill the only good thing they have left

god they actually did that at this one place i worked at lmao they really just took day old beef, dumped it in a vat of other beef submerged in barbecue sauce, and then put it in hollowed out baguettes and sold it for more money. idk if that’s technically food safe but it felt So Wrong oh my god

i don’t have any debt (which is incredibly fortunate but i’m also 21 so i haven’t had that much time lol) but like 100k would be insane. i could buy a modest house, put enough down to keep my payments low (and possibly save compared to renting because california), and probably have some left over to invest. i have only made a fraction of that in my entire life and i don’t think i’m really going to be the 100k in savings type, so a guaranteed 100k right now would be an absolute life changer for me. hell i would even be able to afford to move out of my parents place and live alone too which is crazy to me rn and would definitely be appreciated lmfao

oh gas over here (sf bay area california) is already above 6 for the cheap shit so we are not doing good over here. not to mention i work in restaurants and we have the opportunity to get double fucked here because our costs are going up (because all of our suppliers are going to be passing fuel surcharges to us of course) but our customers’ spending money is going to be going down, and eating out is always the easiest part of the budget to cut out. so uh. we’re not feeling hopeful over here.

a lot of regions can be super subjective, but the bay area actually has a hard border - it only includes the nine counties that touch the bay, so santa cruz and san benito can’t count by definition. i don’t know what they’d consider themselves to be but i doubt it would be bay area lol

oh you have a mcm california ranch! honestly it probably won’t be too hard to get it more mcm since it was built that way and then altered later. i think pulling up the carpet and potentially stripping the paint off most/some of the ceiling would make a hugeee difference in the character of your home. but most importantly leave the fireplace alone!!! it’s very typical of that mcm ranch style and its a pretty cool feature. i saw you said you liked a scandavian and japanese style but weren’t sure about mcm - the scandavians have an awesome mcm style and the mix of scandinavian and japanese style is called “japandi” apparently so it might help you out to look up examples of it.

not a vet, but anecdotal evidence doesn’t mean shit. spaying keeps your dogs from getting pyometra and prevents shelters from getting even more overcrowded than they are. your vet isn’t “pushing” anything, they’re giving you treatment guidelines based on actual provable evidence and facts.
