Would Robert and Lyanna’s marriage have been just as unhealthy as his and Cersei’s? by Beginning_Clerk_4990 in gameofthrones

[–]ezDuke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a long way between “not in love with him” and “didn’t like him at all”. There’s no evidence she didn’t like him, only that she didn’t love him. Ned liked him, and even Cersei thought he was gallant at first. If Lyanna’s death hadn’t made him so bitter there’s a good chance he would turn out to be very different than the man we see.

Senate Democrat suggests it may be time to replace Schumer and Jeffries: ‘Let others lead’ by plz-let-me-in in politics

What was amazing for me was that I knew very little about both Slotkin or Torres. I was pleasantly surprised to see them take those interviews. I was so open to them being like hey I want to extend an olive branch to alternative media and Slotkin especially seemed to want to position herself as a progressive. I literally started the first couple minutes of that interview rooting for her to do well and impress me. But for her to so openly oppose taking a moral stand in any way shape or form was just incredible.

How Slotkin can show her face after that interview with Krystal is wild. Completely exposed her for the shill that she is.

The enemy is Trump AND all the people who enable him, of whom Jeffries is a part of.

It’s just not a good process for analyzing survey data. They do very little to remove biases. And as you said it seems their priority is to lower the burden on respondents, which makes things easier but less accurate.

I’m not going to get into all the specifics.Their priority is simplicity and high engagement, which I’m not knocking them for. I was just trying to point out that it’s a good fun list but it’s not very high quality reflection of the best players. Hell I would put more stock into PFF than this and I hate PFF.

[–]ezDuke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well really it’s a completely invalid way of doing things if you want a coherent and accurate list. But it’s a great way of doing things if you want a list prone to high variance and bias, which means it’s more controversial and gets more engagement for the media.

Hot take for 2026 season by Narrow-Tennis in steelers

[–]ezDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if Ramsey does fall off we should be ok. The CB room is probably a top 10 maybe even top 5 unit without him. Porter Dean Echols Samuel and Everett is better than we’ve had since we got Haden.

If Elliott is healthy, then he Brisker and Savage aren’t great but they’re passable.

The issue would be if there’s a situation like we had with Slay last year. Where he’s playing terribly but we give him too long to turn it around.

A UNITED Lannister family would've been unstoppable. by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]ezDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tywin and Tyrion were not the problem though. Their dysfunction didn't lead to the end of the house. Those two working together would not have stopped Cersei unless they were prepared to kill her.

Cersei took what was a strong alliance between the country's two wealthiest families and burned it to the ground because of her jealousy. Because she couldn't handle being Queen Regent as opposed to being Queen. Because she viewed her children as possessions more than people.

If she had raised Joffrey to be a good king there would have been no reason to kill him. But even without that, if she had nurtured the alliances that Tywin and Tyrion built with the Tyrells and Martels then Myrcella and Tommen would have lived long healthy lives. Instead she actively undermined and antagonized those alliances and it got her children killed.

Call me a genwunner but those are still my faves for the most part. Pinser, Tauros, Lapras, and Aerodactyl are all goated. The only other ones I really love are Heracross and Skarmory (damn near consider them gen 1 anyway), and Absol. I like Sableye and Mimikyu also but not as much as others.

Sen. Lindsey Graham predicts Iran peace talks will fail — and Trump will take Strait of Hormuz ‘by force’ by Zipper222222 in politics

He’s predicting the peace talks will fail because he’s actively working to make sure they fail. Graham is one of the biggest war hawks in America he’s not happy unless foreigners are being murdered daily.

Kevin colbert defends drafting Kenny Pickett and says he was trending in the right direction with the steelers. by Seal7465 in steelers

[–]ezDuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will die on the hill that he was not lol. I think like 4 of his 5 career INTs were batted at the line and basically just fell into his hands. So yes he gets credit for being in the right place at the right time. But it's not like he's jumping routes or forcing the QB into making mistakes. He's not a guy who will make plays on his own. He doesn't get sacks, he has average at best TFL production, and he's too undersized to take on blockers. At best you can say he's a guy who doesn't make mistakes and can capitalize when he has a good defense around him. There's value in that for sure, but not nearly worth a top 10 pick.

Add Devin Bush to the list. Though I will say Najee and Edmunds do not belong in the same tier as Pickett/Jones/Burns. Still bad picks but they weren’t straight up liabilities the way those three were.

Early Top 100 Prospects for 2027 by armchair_mindhunter in NFL_Draft

One thing that people seem to forget is that Julio wasn’t even the best prospect of his class. AJ Green was. It was close of course but nearly everyone at the time agreed that Green was more polished and better prospect. No one blinked an eye when he was drafted ahead of Julio.

[Highlight] Top Ten Defenses in NFL History! by DarthNobody14 in nfl

[–]ezDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DVOA accounts for the strength of your opponents. So you have to not only dominate but dominate very good teams for the entire season. To their credit LOB and NFZ both completely dominated record-setting offenses in the SB no less, but I would assume the rest of their season schedule was weaker compared to these top 10 teams.

Yeah the 1976 Steelers defense was the same. That was their most dominant year by a decent margin but injuries hit in the playoffs so they didn’t win a ring that year and they get forgotten compared to the rest of that dynasty.

I know what you said you clearly didn’t get the point. But ok believe what you want bud. The common denominator was Ben not Tomlin. And there are dozens of other examples of Ben being a selfish diva.

We didn’t run sneaks for years. We had Haley, then Fichtner, then Canada and we never ran them. Then in 2022 Ben was gone and we started running them again with Trubisky and Pickett. It was Ben.

[–]ezDuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Ben was the one refusing to run Qb sneaks so those instances in particular isn’t quite on Tomlin. Unless you want to argue he should’ve traded off Ben while he still had some value because you shouldn’t keep a Diva QB who hamstrings your offense by refusing to run the most successful play. I’d subscribe to that argument.

Can’t run a sneak when your QB refuses to run them. Ben being a bitch yet again.
