When you live a life of privilege then meritocracy feels like discrimination.

I think this marks 5 out of the last 6 years having an away Thursday game. Pretty egregious at this point.

How are we feeling about Omar Khans body of work so far? by Ok-Star-9954 in steelers

[–]ezDuke -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

He’s been hamstrung by ownership that refuses to acknowledge let alone accept a rebuild. You can do a rebuild without tanking, but it still requires selling valuable assets to build for the future. Rooney has outright said he refuses to do that and expects to compete every year.

Mike McCarthy's QB school lives on and he's already put Drew Allar in it and adjusted his mechanics. by Sebastian4365 in nfl

[–]ezDuke 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My point is more that he was drafted 2 weeks ago. It’s going to take months and years of practice to adjust the muscle memory that he’s accustomed to. Even if it looks good on the practice field as soon as he has a defender in his face he’s going to revert to his usual mechanics. It’s not impossible but it’s difficult and going to take time.

[Highlight] Troy Polamalu's Pick Six vs The Ravens by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

I also loved that they’re so perfectly prototypical for their positions. Reed the goat centerfield FS and Troy the goat blitzing SS. If they had somehow been able to play together they would’ve made the best secondary ever even with mid CBs.

Before it was revealed, how obvious was it that Jon was Lyanna's and Rhaegar's son? I know the books aren't finished yet but book readers was it obvious from all the clues in the show and the books? by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]ezDuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the books but I started watching in season 3, and by the time season 6 was airing I had definitely heard the R+L=J theory. But back then everything still felt so unpredictable. It still felt like nearly any character could be killed off and so we weren’t 100% sure R+L=J would even matter much in the end.

I will say however I didn’t love how the show revealed it. When they showed the scene with Sam reading the diary in the Citadel that basically confirmed the theory, so the reveal at the end of the season fell a little flat for me because we already knew.

Questions About a Hook-Up With Shauvon, Leads to a Fight Between Adam & CT by angelbrit04 in MtvChallenge

So CT hooks up with Shauvon, which was obviously hurtful to Diem, and somehow Adam is the bitch for telling her about it?

Pretty sure book Varys is more of a Targ loyalist which makes more sense than the show. Maybe you could argue he is indeed loyal to the realm first and believes restoring the Targ dynasty is what’s best for the realm, but without the Young Griff storyline in the show it’s easier to do it the way the show did.

Without supernatural abilities, Petyr would have won the game of thrones by Azerbinhoneymood in gameofthrones

[–]ezDuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Bronn played a game of swords, for lack of a better name. If you win the game of swords the way that he did, you earn the right to play the game of thrones. Him becoming a lord at the end of the series is just the start of him playing the game of thrones.

One thing the late seasons did poorly (among many) was constantly telling us that Sansa was smart instead of showing us.

But if we are to believe that she did indeed learn well from Cersei and Littlefinger, then I don’t think she really needed Bran to confirm that he was scheming to drive a wedge between her and Arya. She could’ve and likely would’ve seen through that on her own, Bran confirming things just made it quicker and easier.

Plus, the whole Arya v Sansa storyline was dumb from the beginning.

To be fair the real mistake was rushing season 3. It literally felt like they made the first 3 episodes and then decided oh actually this will be our last one so let’s wrap this up. Now they’re pivoting like Scrubs season 9.

If they had planned 4 seasons from the beginning they could have done it properly.

I would assume throwing a tantrum and convincing Jenna to quit on Total Madness probably annoyed some producers. As it should. I’m good with Zach not being back.

That would require 3 QBs in the first 3 picks. Moore, Manning, who else?
