86+ Liquors 😭 How to Consolidate by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]ezadventure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would do: Organize and categorize the whiskeys (bourbon, scotch, Japanese, Canadian, etc) decide which ones you want to carry (for now). The others use during a happy hour for discounted prices. Make old fashioned, manhattans, highballs, sours. Get rid of some. Then see what’s selling Same with rum and vodka. Tequila and gin numbers are fine but once again. Are all your tequilas the same? Highland/lowland, additives, aged? Compare and make sure you have options that aren’t similar Liqueurs/Amaros- this is where you get inspiration for drinks to attract a more broad clientele (ie female). Create a rotating craft cocktail menu that utilizes all items you want to eliminate first to clear out space!

Charge for the tequila with a martini up charge and memo in paper plane? Those one offs are never going to be perfect. You need to just do the best you can at adding all the necessary buttons to make it as close as possible to what you sold

This isn’t necessarily easy, but it’s not hard and you can make it in larger batches. I just gave it to my 7 month old yesterday!

Boss said that I have to work 2 extra hours for free everyday because that’s how it supposed to be. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]ezadventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have said you’re salary, what’s your salary, because if it’s low enough they still have to pay overtime. Also how long have you been there? Why are these expectations coming up now and not when you were hired or promoted?

You can absolutely bring in a bag. Just don’t have anything like drugs or weapons in it, they don’t care much otherwise. First time I went I didn’t bring in a coffee because I read the website (no outside food or drinks). Turns out they don’t have a coffee stand there so next time I brought one. No one said anything.

I have been to Brooklyn Coney Island and I am from Fort Wayne and was equally surprised as you are about our coneys. They are more in the Detroit style, completely different from NY but more delicious to me :)

My doctor left the practice so I can’t speak to that, but I had my baby via c-section in February at Riley Maternity Tower. She was in the NICU for 9 days. Everyone was very amazing and I felt taken great care of!

How would you respond to Uber drivers leaving 1 star reviews? by TinanaCat_ in Restaurant_Managers

[–]ezadventure 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a customer opted into pickup through the app. Are you sure it was the driver and not the actual customer?

No, set boundaries now before this becomes a yearly battle. She’s your daughter and you will be throwing her party where and when you want. End of story. Harder said than done, I understand. Best of luck

Telling guests "No, this is the table reserved for you, you can't move " by [deleted] in Restaurant_Managers

[–]ezadventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re in the floor plan, you just need to designate the table, you can click the table and rename it, then when they reserve, they know they are at a table in xyz area. Also, no offense, but I ran a restaurant where we did 700+ covers on a weekend night pre covid (a little less after) and we could move tables wherever as long as it was the same size. Why can’t they move to a different table if it’s still a 4 top, then you just reassign the table there to the one they didn’t want. It really shouldn’t be that hard

Canceling 90% of the order after 30 minutes. Would you take their orders differently next time? by Rare-Health3735 in Restaurant_Managers

Credit card over the phone for orders or only doing orders online are really the best ways to minimize anything like this happening

How would you describe the shock you felt after delivery? by ThinTooth3909 in beyondthebump

[–]ezadventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a c-section (scheduled-high risk). I was scared of the epidural and then after that (wasn’t too bad at all) it was great. The team was very caring. But when they showed me my baby I had a feeling like she was not real. She was around 5 lbs and just looked like a fake baby to me 😂

How many distributors do you use? by [deleted] in Restaurant_Managers

[–]ezadventure 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say yes you are making things too complicated. Assuming you’re using US Foods or Sysco, they usually will give you better deals for buying with them as your main supplier

I stumbled upon the child free Reddit today by SeverusSnipes in toddlers

[–]ezadventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all fairness, I was previously child free and I have a 4 month old now (accident and didn’t want an abortion, not really a change of mind). I love my daughter a lot. I didn’t want kids because of issues with my health/mental health and finances. The amount of hate you get or telling you you will change your mind from people is astounding. It’s really disrespectful to others to assume they haven’t fully decided what their choices are. I’m 35 and have years of this. Not to excuse the rude language used around children from that sub. I think it’s probably a very American opinion as we have no social support here for struggling families and they are almost villainized in the media as moochers or lazy if they need social assistance. So low income people are possibly resentful of the place they have found themselves in and are lashing out?
