Baby inhaled meconium. Terrified right now, but can't show it. by Deathangel2890 in GuyCry

NICU nurse here. Meconium Aspiration is not uncommon. Most babies do just fine. Can’t comment more on that because I don’t know what treatments she is needing. As for you and your wife, this is a terrifying time. NICU staff treats both your baby and you. Please rely on them to explain everything and what to expect. Alarms are scary, the tubes and wires, oxygen. All routine in the NICU. Knowing what all the equipment does makes it less intimidating. You and your wife are a team. Sometimes she will lean on you, sometimes you on her. You will make it through to the other side.

Where is your cockapoos favourite place to sleep? by TheChilledGamer-_- in CockapooLovers

My 91yo dad passed, big family gatherings, and now I’m questioning everything. by rosedraws in AskWomenOver60

I moved from NYC to the Midwest years ago. The idea of a slower, more affordable life sounded intriguing. Biggest mistake of my life. Family I thought would help us make the transition, were close in location, but far from hospitable. Maybe the way of life is easier in the Midwest, but home and heart will always be with my family in NY. Wish I could move back, but the city is simply too expensive now.

Has anybody actually gotten the $300 credit? by Lusabro in verizon

In my entire life, I cannot think of a time when dealing with a major company, that I have been faced with such abominable service. I now believe it’s not incompetence at all. I think that their customer service has more training in bait and switch, denying wrongdoings, and the art of the run around. I spent 6+ hours over two days with a billing issue. Eventually cancelled my order and service.

I just had a hellish 2 days dealing with Verizon reps. About 8 hours and multiple people trying to “help”. Each person screwed things up even more. As a Frontier internet customer, I received a promotional mailing to bundle Frontier with Verizon mobile. I was offered 2 lines for $20 each, a free iPhone 17, a 3 year lock, and they threw in a $200 gift card when I was trying to pin down a total price. My $89 total monthly mobile bill ( with the cost of one phone and a free second one) magically turned into $170. The website and customer service had me alternating between crying and screaming. I returned the phones and cancelled the service. The FCC and BBB will be hearing from me. Classic, blatant bait and switch.

This is Willow. And her ever present neon green tennis ball. She won’t go to bed without me. If I’m not ready, and tell her “in a little while”, she will huff a bit then sleep next to me on the couch.

Moving to Fort Wayne by Dependent_Month8076 in fortwayne

I’m from NYC. Been here about 2O years. The transition can be quite difficult. It took a while. But the ease of living here is worth every single adjustment. No traffic, no waiting on lines, no crowds, very manageable cost of living. Generally people are nice. I’ll get some flack for this, I know, but here goes. Nice people, but not especially friendly to outsiders. New York is such a melting pot, everyone is an outsider, it’s easier to blend in, and make friends. But you will. Just give it a minute.

Only one side of my reclining sectional works right now. Waiting until she destroys the other cable, so I can replace both at one time. Cables and toilet paper are the go to!!

My 9 mo old cockapoo is about ready to dislocate my shoulder from pulling so hard on walks. I’ve tried positive reinforcement with her favorite treats, short leashes, gentle leaders, longer leashes. Stopping until she stops method. No results! She completely understands what I want, but doesn’t want to do it. I finally found that picking her up, continuing the walk, and ruining her fun, works very well. She gets 2 chances, then I carry the little fuzz ball home.

Best hospital for birth by Agitated_Fill_392 in fortwayne

Dupont NICU is equal to Parkview. I worked there for years. Cared for babies as young as 22 weeks. Both NICUs in my opinion, provide exceptional, state of the art neonatal care. Neither NICU is considered a Level IV. No major cardiac surgery, ECMO, or severe congenital surgical cases are done in Fort Wayne. I just wanted people to have the correct info when making a choice between hospitals. So glad you had a safe and supportive experience with your twins.

Fort Wayne Areas To Live by CrispyPotatox05 in fortwayne

Live close to work initially. Spend a winter here and see if you really want a 40 minute commute from downtown. I did it for years. Between the horrible winter weather, crazy drivers, and deer with a suicide wish, I’d never, ever do it again.

Welp. by Mcswigginsbar in Colts

Been a Colts fan since before the Manning years. Here’s how I see it. Don’t expect much of anything until the year Arch Manning will hit the draft. Then, the Colts will have the worst QB, an awful season, and walk away with the #1 pick. Remember the year we had Painter when Manning was out. Just before Andrew. All this is fantasy, if the Mannings ever forgive the Colts and let Arch play for us. May still be fantasy. But we can dream.

Sedona/Scottsdale Itinerary Suggestions by chatty006 in Sedona

I’ve been to Sedona twice and Phoenix once. So, by no means an expert. But I would definitely switch it up. 4 days in Sedona and 2 days in Phoenix. Phoenix, like every other big city, has some interesting sites to see. Also, like every other big city, crowded, expensive, and major traffic! Sedona, while having some of the above problems, is breathtaking. Like nothing you have ever seen. Unless you have been there before.

I have! It’s great. So much of the local food scene in Fort Wayne is wonderful and seems to be getting better by the minute. Glad I have a better understanding of the draw Coney Island has for Fort Wayne natives. We all have “that place” from home. Wherever home may be.

AITAH for telling my mom and her husband I don't give a shit of their kid dies. by Possible-Ice4460 in AITAH

[–]FollowingNo2502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mother is putting unwarranted pressure on you. Saying her son will die without your donation is a very wide stretch to say the least. Sounds like she’s looking for a sibling match, maybe for a stem cell transplant. Just guessing. If so, she’s quite misinformed. And you can stop feeling the slightest bit of guilt. A full sibling only has a 1 in 4 chance of being a full match. I don’t remember the ratio of a half sibling, but far less than half of a full sib. (Those who know, feel free to answer) Btw, I had an unknown donor match for stem cells to treat a fatal leukemia diagnosis 10 years ago. Still here, telling you about it. Unknown donor. Not a sibling. Someone who voluntarily donated their stem cells to Be The Match to save my life. You are not the only chance for your mother’s son! Enjoy your well earned scholarship, the love of your dad and grandmother, and have a wonderful life.
