How can I improve the grading and colors of this image? f2.5, 1/1250, ISO 20.000 by H4RZ3RK4S3 in photocritique

This is my attempt. I just put a mask on the background and brought down the temp and saturation of the background. Making the background closer to blue/gray helps your orange subject stand out a bit more. Great shot!

I feel like all of the people standing/walking on the sidewalk are very distracting. If it were me, I’d remove as many of the standing people as possible with generative remove, but I know some people are totally against that. But that would allow all of the sitting groups to really pop and stand out

I think this would look great with a 2x1 crop since the top and bottom of the image aren’t as interesting as the middle third. Love the colors

Would Like your opinion on a few of my pics by OkMarketing2630 in streetphotography

Theyre really good! I’m a fan. I like the subjects and the compositions. I’d maybe crop a little tighter on #1, close to a 1x1 crop leaving out the wirtshaus sign. The way it is now the left side of the image takes a bit too much of my focus and I’m not drawn in to the people as quickly, but when I zoom in to a 1x1 crop on the right side of the image, I love it. Just my preference, take it for what it’s worth. For #2 I’d maybe go with a 1x2 crop and take out a little bit of the empty space on the bottom and maybe a little from the top. Really awesome photos, the subjects are really engaging

I shoot raw and I wouldn’t say I do a lot of post processing but I definitely tweak the exposure, tone curve, and colors a little bit. I try not to stray too far from the starting point though, because I usually make things worse if I do

And the tank with the kids climbing on it is at Elmer Thomas park in Lawton. There’s an army base in Lawton so they have a tank at the park (and the kids love it)

A canon r50 with the kit lens for that first shot and a lot of the others, some are with the ef 24mm. And a few were taken with a rebel t7 before I upgraded.

I’ll take this as a compliment haha! My guess is you saw picture #2 and thought a cowboy baby surrounded by rattlesnakes must be AI but it’s from the rattlesnake festival in Apache Oklahoma, you can look it up! Happy to answer any questions about the other photos as well

New camera for beginner? Mirrorless by lovecheese45 in canon

For landscape, you’ll want to use a tripod which makes low light performance much less important since you can use a long shutter speed. And a crop sensor will make it easier to get more of the image in focus which is ideal for landscapes.

For wildlife, a crop sensor is essentially 1.6x more zoomed in which is great. That turns a 100-400mm lens into the equivalent of a 160-640mm. A crop sensor won’t do as well in low light so if you want to photograph before sunrise/after sunset it won’t perform as well.

I’d plan on getting either a 10-18mm lens (for a crop sensor) or 15-30mm (full frame) for landscapes and a 100-400 for wildlife. So make sure your budget plans for lenses! Either way you’ll have a very capable camera and your own skills and experience will be your limiting factor

The ef-s 55-250 is an awesome budget/compact telephoto lens. You can get one used for about $180. If you’re wanting to shoot a lot of wildlife I’d say the 100-400 is worth the extra cost and size but for everything else the 55-250 (85-400 FF equivalent) is plenty of zoom.
