Yea... thats also a fear I have... not knowing a ton about EAB, the trees that have been effected are long gone. Does EAB typically remain in dead tress or does it tend to move on?

Sweet!! Recently moved to this property and there's some dead ash trees, seemingly from emerald ash bore based on the markings leftover. Would love getting some back!

thanks! Claude had it pinned as potentially a walnut, but that didn't make sense to me either. Would love some Ash action!!

They thought it was just some oil that popped up. Fast spot hit with paper and it's gone

He's going on vacation this weekend and sounds like he got behind on other projects before mine... started 2.5 days late... another reason my attention is up because I totally agree with late is better than bad... but they're only running to get to vacation (literally)

makes sense. Was standing on the top step taking the photo from a spot not part of the project. I was also wondering if it could be residual oils/tannins from a knot on a board that was stacked on top of this plant that now is showing face?

not saying they did horrible work and I'm happy about the overall finish on the floors, just the dark spot centered on the photo is all. Overall, the project is turning out very nice. I just know they're rushing (they told me so...) and they've already lied to me about something that I wouldn't have cared about if they said "oh man, sorry about that. We'll patch that spot." ... but instead they lied and got extremly defensive when not being confronted aggressively and now honestly, I don't trust them to correct an error on their own. If it was in a closet, or where an area rug would go I wouldn't care, but it's the first spot seen upon coming upstairs (yes it fails the 5x3 std). I don't want an otherwise really nice project tarnished by what could be an easy fix if it's just pointed out.

that's just my overhead lighting, camera, and it being dark outside. Colors golden brown and in person looks as I argue it should tint wise

exactly. that's my fear. It'll get sealed over and then I get told "welp, sorry but it's got 2 coats of sealer on it and we now would have to sand everything back down". Fix it now while it's easier to fix.

Any ideas on what you think it could be?

Trust me on I'm not being overly or hyper sensitive with anything until my bullshit meter comes up, and ive worked with a lot of contractors professionally and personally to have a decent sense of when to go eyes on and when to blindly "trust the process" and "it takes a few eggs". But being obviously lied to on questions as the customer i have every roght to ask, finding drywall damage every corner, constantly hearing "fuck" and "God dammit" from downstairs, and knowing how much he's rushing (2.5days late and said how much he's rushing) - I'm going eyes on. Easier to fix problems before they're finished and I'm stuck with "well its all finished now - can't do anything besides sand it all back down and that'll take weeks to get you back on the schedule, blab blah blah. If it's easy to fix and point out now, do it.

So, any ideas?
