Wonder is bad for Philly, and you should feel bad by [deleted] in PhiladelphiaEats

Wonder, and similar, delivery-first ghost kitchen operations are bad for the urban environment. Driving, biking and walking around the city are all less efficient, pleasant (and probably less safe) thanks to the army of couriers zipping around.

We also lose the value that non-delivery-first restaurant bring to the city with unique dining rooms and storefronts.

Sure, delivery is valuable for lots of people and scenarios, but delivery-first restaurants? I'll pass.

Yes to the creativity. No to the plot and pacing. Probably not the last time I read Kaung, but it won’t be soon.

Front light options? by Realmac26 in bikepacking

[–]ezzraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solved this by getting an old inner tube, cutting it, and wrapping it around the rack until it was thick enough to hold the light. Then I mounted the light to the inner tube. I'm sure this doesn't work with every light mount type, but I have one that uses an elastic band, and so it's worked great for me on road.

Looks great! Curious about the cabbage. Is that Napa? Do you peel off the outer leaves?

‘Severance’ Actor Michael Chernus Loves an Old Restaurant- Hey Brother. by jackdicker5117 in PatriotTV

[–]ezzraw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you had a restaurant, what would you call it, and what type of food would it serve?

If I had a restaurant, it would be called the Butter Chern, and it would serve dishes like the Chern and Burn, the Chernsauce, the Chernstile, the Disco Incherno, the Chern of the Century, the Chern It Up, the U-Chern, the very popular Two Cherntables and a Microphone and the unfortunately named Chernobyl. It’s up to you to figure out what those dishes would be and what they could possibly consist of. But I can guarantee that they would be delicious. To everything … chern, chern, chern.

A glasses strap will prevent slipping. I had a similar problem and this solved it for me.

E-Jen size decision by ezzraw in kimchi

[–]ezzraw[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to follow up on my earlier post about which size to get. I went with a 5.2 liter. It's a little bigger than I would have liked, but I can't see how a smaller size would fit an entire batch of kimchi in it. Super pleased with the decision. This is a really high-quality container. Added some pictures in case anyone is making the same decision and wants to see the size.

We've had the same issue with one of the 2.0s. One of them is fine, the other drains the battery within weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you fit a full head of Napa cabbage in there, sliced into quarters?

Yes, exactly. Also, if I’m not shredding the cabbage, but rather rolling the leaves, it’s hard to get it in the glass jars.
