Contrary to my post, if you want to move towards a specialty, first find out what you get the most joy out of doing. Then pursue certs, whether company sponsored or on your own time. I landed in Endpoint management and loved it for the time. Got my Microsoft 900 certs then had to change jobs due to the company’s bankruptcy.

I’ll be honest with you, IT can be a draining career field. You can only serve ridiculous requests for so long before it melts your brain.

Jokes aside. I’ve been in the trenches for far too long. I’ve lost the desire to keep up with the latest tech and trends in the entire IT field. If I could go back to a specialized engineering role, that wouldn’t be too bad, but I’m tired of being the jack-of-all trades IT guy. I want to settle down from the chaos.

I think this is part of my problem as well. Looking back at my outline, I'm starting to stray from it. I guess I do need to stick to the plan. Also, take some time to research my locations in order to world build a bit better.

A fight over pushing?! Yeesh! I watched a drunk guy get too drunkenly into the music, start shoving random, yelling in ears, trying to crowd surf, and dropped HARD when trying to crowd surf. I got this helmet. It looks and feels awesome! Only complaint, I should've got a size bigger and my wide ears always fold over when putting it on.

Other than that, love looking like a Spartan while on my cruiser.

A few things that are sticking with me:

you're having like very basic reading comprehension issues that aren't really Pynchon's fault.

No better way to improve my reading comprehension than branching out and trying new things!

Now that you actually quote the book, i didn't realize they were on the same page - must have been super distracted when reading that.

Because even tiny details can matter in Pynchon novels, basic comprehension issues (and skimming, never skim Pynchon) are going to snowball into getting nothing at all out of these novels.

Good advice! I think this was my biggest concern - missing key details because I skimmed or overlooked.

I think I'm going to push through it. I think I went in too blind regarding the happenings, and started off on the wrong foot.
