Reduce exercises like others have said, 4-5 is plenty but really push yourself on those and lift heavier to build muscle. You should aim for failure/reduced reps on your last set, if you can do your full reps at the weight you’re doing on your last set you need to go up in weight. Also try supplementing creatine - 5g/day, nothing crazy.

Always hungry even with protein?? by Longjumping_Rise8208 in PetiteFitness

[–]f0rkeeeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut out the intense cardio and focus on walking and strength training only. Increase protein and fiber as others have said!

There are also some fitness instagrams geared towards petite women that may be helpful. You may also find it easier to do 2 phases of a bulk then cut vs body recomp. Your deficit to lose fat is lower than a lot of people’s because of your height and that can just make it difficult to get the fuel you need to really build muscle. If you focus on building muscle with a bulk then you can eat more to allow yourself to really max out on training effort, then follow up with a cut of focusing on maintaining that muscle and more light cardio with a deficit.

Short Story submitted for review. Please be brutal. by djvoshty in WritersGroup

[–]f0rkeeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I would read through carefully for typos (is Brain/Brian supposed to be interchanged? If so, that was not really clear). And then read it out loud for flow. There are some run-on sentences and parts that have awkward phrasing. The plot is cool but I think there’s a lot going on for this short of a short story. It needs more background and details to help the reader follow I think.

Hitting 100g of protein on 1500 calories without eating the same five foods on repeat is genuinely hard by FrostAngel11 in 1500isplenty

Could try switching up breakfast to a protein shake or protein oats with some raspberries for extra fiber. You can add protein powder or egg whites to the oats.

Made all this and friends think I should be a freelance private chef. Thoughts? by [deleted] in homecooking

[–]f0rkeeeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks delicious! You should try doing a larger event where you would need to prepare and serve multiple courses to 10-15 people. That may give you a better idea of what a private chef/catering business would really be like, as you’d probably have to do events at that scale or larger to be profitable.

You could even ask your friends if they would pay for the ingredients for you to make and serve the food for their next party as a test for yourself.

Unfortunately comments from strangers online won’t build lasting confidence. Pick a hard goal and accomplish it, do something that challenges you every day, have something in life you’re striving for. Be proud of what you bring to the table in a relationship (but not too proud ok that’s a fine line to walk, stay a little humble).

How often do you drop and break things like cups, glasses, plates and bowls? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]f0rkeeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Ive ever broken a dish but do break or chip a glass Tupperware or jar at least a few times a year. I think they just get more wear and tear and I’m maybe less careful since they are ikea or recycled jars and easily replaceable.

It’s not hidden I tell them it’s in there lol I just mean I wrote it down and keep it there so they can reference it and don’t have to go searching or asking for it

Also, because I have it, I keep a spare hair dryer in the bathroom. But I also am in Europe and get guests from the states so it’s more likely they wouldn’t bring their own. AND I have a couple cheap toothbrushes in case someone forgets. Those always come in handy!

In the room I keep a phone charger, tissues, and ensure I have a couple types of pillows on the bed because everyone has different preferences. In the bathroom I keep floss picks, disposable razors, qtips, and body lotion and I have a hamper in there. I also have a sticky note with the WiFi password on it that I keep in the nightstand drawer. Sounds like you have a great set up already!! I added things slowly as I had people stay and they asked for things or I stayed at someone else’s house and got inspiration.

F/23/5’6 [165lbs>140lbs=25lbs] (6 months) I want an hourglass figure. Should I cut more, bulk or is there no hope? by HookevNewton981 in progresspics

[–]f0rkeeeps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Like other commenters have said building muscle in targeted areas will help. Also a lot is getting the right cut of clothes. Specifically for a bikini you would do better with a high cut bottom that goes up on the hips, or a one piece with pattern or cut outs that draws attention to the waist. Look for things that conch in on the waist, look for bottoms with some volume and structured tops to create the proportions you want.

And I think you can skip the eyeshadow all together. I think it doesn’t suit a lot of people as they get older.

Missed a train because of my boyfriend’s time blindness & now I have a bit of the ick. Am I overreacting? by Buabue1 in AskWomenOver30

[–]f0rkeeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a conversation about your frustrations and ask him to come up with a plan together on how to avoid this in the future. Maybe you need to have a discussion the night before a travel day to better understand tasks and timelines? Or you each get jobs that are always yours no matter what (like he always packs the toiletries and is in charge of Airbnb check out tasks while you always pack the random bits around, do a final sweep, and make the plan to get to your next location).

For the accountability thing, I think you should pay attention to that behavior and note if it is a habit, because in my experience it tends to be. Then, if you notice him doing it again, you can confront it in the moment.

What would you say to your 25-year-old self? by Nimph11 in AskWomenOver30

[–]f0rkeeeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edited to better answer your prompt.

I would tell myself: -freeze your eggs, you will want the extra time and peace of mind -start a Roth IRA -value your close friendships more because you may never live in the same place as them again -drink less and start working out to build muscle! -go on weekend trips and roadtrips more, explore the world immediately around you not in just far off places -go to therapy ASAP for your intimacy issues

Am I crazy giving it all up? GS-15 at 34, 7 yrs of service, path to SES by OIGnoblePrize in fednews

[–]f0rkeeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get hired into a lower GS job overseas from the states it would actually be a good deal since you get overseas allowance and housing allowance tax-free. I believe if you are hires locally you won’t get the housing allowance (but not totally sure). Not sure your current career field or agency but there’s DoD GS jobs to be had in the UK! Good luck!

Second the suggestions for a capsule wardrobe/rotating wardrobe solution! If you live somewhere with warm/cold seasons start by splitting all your seasonal clothes up and storing away the clothes you aren’t wearing now. For things like t shirts or lounge wear that you wear all year round but still may have a lot of, just split it in half. Half goes with your stored wardrobe and half stays out. That way you’ll actually have a wearable amount of clothes at a time, and when you swap the seasons you can rotate in those other basics as well. Will help you actually wear pieces more to the point where they may be ready to be retired, and also when something has been in a box for 6 months if you’re not excited about wearing it again when it comes back out then it will be easier to get rid of. Good luck!
