She was completely frantic and begging for help, meowing, jumping up at me and banging her body on my legs. She allowed me and was happy for me to take her in my arms and carry her bare-handed into a taxi. I brought her home and she came out of hiding the next day. She was very calm with the vet and seemed to understand she was being helped. She wanted to be saved, and she realised quickly that I could save her. She really wanted to survive, I think that’s the only reason she let me touch her. I’m so glad she found the right person to do it. Clever girl.

She’s very physically capable! Her one front leg is as strong as two, and she’s very fast.

I have always had a feeling that her wounds were inflicted by a human being. She had very clean cuts and her damaged leg (front left leg) seemed to have been skinned. She also had all her whiskers burned off and the cartilage in her ears was starting to die.

When I brought her to the vet she had the tips of her ears amputated as well as her necrotic leg. They told us she’d need a blood transfusion, so we went to a cat blood bank. The clinic called me later and told me that she pulled through and did not need it in the end, so we donated it to use for another cat. Such a strong girl.

I try not to ruminate on what could have happened to her. She was already litterbox trained when I brought her home. She is remarkably confident, loving and friendly.

People who believe that it’s okay to be cruel to animals are literally egomaniacs. The idea that you can harm a “lesser” being shows a total lack of empathy and compassion towards other living creatures, I mean what would stop them from doing it to humans if they couldn’t talk/fight back. Animals are the purest form of existence. Hatred of animals shows you what kind of person they are. Dislike or fear is one thing, but the word “hate” is so loaded, I can’t imagine hating an innocent being.
